well in theory it should be alright :) i always leave mine a bit toe-in.

just press the brake to the max and see if the pad flattens out.

the only BAD thing about it is that your pads won't wear evenly on light breaking but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much.

also did you replace JUST the pad or did you also replace the housing?

I just replaced the pad, but I did remove the housing to do so as I wanted to clean it up a bit.

Not worried about uneven wear, brake pads are pennies. It's purely braking performance and whether or not something is broken that's making me worry.

Tried on a pair of the new Giro Empire shoes today.. so comfy and look bloody great IMO.

I REALLY want a pair of those with the yellow/fluo logo. So pricey for what they are though.

Cheers. There is a spindle on the nut for the bolt that goes through the brake block, but it looks flat and moving it seems to make no difference.

Have you removed the whole thing? Not just the pad from the pad carrier?

Mine look exactly the same and are adjustable.

now I was thinking, should I just pick a new bike for ~300-400 notes extra or buy a new groupo for £400-£500?!

Heh heh new bike time!! :D

Doubt you would get £250 for the frankenbike though?

Not sure if SRAM Apex/Rival shifters still have a nasty habit of snapping, but with your history (:p) I'd be careful of going that route?

Any tips for getting back into cycling? Not been on the road in a good 6 months, rarely go on my rollers either :(
Strava used to be my reason to go out, try and retain the KOMs i managed to get (got one left, no idea how...pretty slow for that stretch)
