Might trade my 500 up for an 800 if anyone's interested.
Probably looking for around £100 max - got it in the Xmas Amazon deals

Planet X' hold music is horrible...

EDIT: It turned out to be worth the wait. When my bike turned up on Saturday with that silly looking silver stem, I set up a stock alert on the black ones which it seems were out of stock at the time, and I got an email this morning to say they had some stock in. I called to ask if they could send one out, and I'd send the silver one back, and they said yes, sure, they'd send out a black one and that I needn't bother sending the silver one back. Result!

I doubt I'll even keep the silver one, even as a spare, it is that ugly... ebay ahoy...

I didnt mean that it's not good value, i meant that it may have been more than Grudas wanted to spend.
He said he was thinking of spending 4-500 on upgrading his triban, so i guessed that by putting that money towards a new bike and getting maybe 200ish for selling his triban, he'd have around 700 for a new bike.

I'll chip in more I think, ROSE should be worth it! and maybe replace the FSA chainset in the future with a 105 to make it full-105-grouped bike.

anyone bought from ROSE? how long does the delivery usually take for a bike?

Myself and ted_maul (I think) both have Roses.

Rose let you customise your build a bit but oddly that model only lets you swap the FSA compact for a 105 triple. I'm sure if you contacted Rose they might do a 105 compact double.

They build each bike to spec so delivery depends on how busy they are in the workshop. Mine took 4 weeks from date of order.

A friend just a had their ROSE delivered today, a turnaround of just over a month and a half since ordering.

Mine took only 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure they will swap any part you like if you just email them. they were excellent with me with any of the queries i had.

Need to get some more chain rings ordered too. Mine are completely worn out. I've been looking at the TA Campagnolo ones.

My outer seems pretty knackered. I left a chain on there for far too long :/

How many miles should you get out of chainrings? My old bike must have something like 6-8000 on them.

Now that I'm taking care of my chainset a little more I'm hoping for mileage more like that :p

I think my laziness about using anything but my outer front chainring has certainly had a negative impact on my component life...

if you look after the chain + cassette, the chainrings last for a long time.
My ridley is on around 4000 miles now and the chainrings are fine.
probably had 3-4 new chains+cassettes in that time.

I couldn't say how many the miles the rings have had put through them. They are probably around 10 years old. And I have only been using the bike solidly for the past two years.

Exactly the same here. I have a new chain and cassette waiting to be installed. Ill put them on all at the same time.

so it's a bit random then! because I'd need to take a day off to collect it.

and my chainring has been going for ~4k miles now, only use the big ring in this case and it's still going strong - cheapo(£40) shimano jobbie..
