Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster

I'm struggling to get into it really, same reasons as above, Tidus is one of the most annoying characters ever along with Hope and Vanille from XIII.

I'm taking a bit of a break from this. Having to kill jumbo flan countless times for +4 magic spheres has drained my enthusiasm a tad. It wouldn't be so bad using Anima but the flan casts regen on itself at low hp which heals 100k+ per tick, meaning I have to recall Anima to cast dispel in order to grind it down. Its either do that or double casting ultima, but that doesn't hit 100k damage until the magic stat is near maxed and you cant overkill with anything less than 99,999 damage(which you want to do to get 2 spheres instead of one).

Tidus, Rikku and Wakka have pretty much maxed out the Sphere Grid.
I just need to get some level 4 spheres to totally max them out.

Then I need to get Yuna and Kimari to learn the Comrade overdrive mode and then I'll max them out as well (Triple AP, Triple OD and OD to AP yo!).
I'm playing blitzball at the moment though, I need to get Wakkas attack reel and ultimate weapon. Blitzball is fairly easy apart from the matches against the Ahbed Psyches, they're the only team to give me any trouble!

I had to think who you meant. I assume its Lord Ochu, you can use silence attack with Wakka to stop it casting spells. When it does fall asleep, use Yuna to summon Valefor and use sonic wings and its overdrive attack to keep piling on the damage. It can't be hit by earthquake and can't be poisoned so that makes it quite durable, sonic wings will also keep delaying the ochus attacks.

Beat the plant this morning, second time around. I don't think I was fully prepared for such a strong enemy after battling other enemies prior without healing. I haven't used any of my spheres from levelling up yet, I have no idea where to go with my characters. I would like to fully max each character but I don't really get who's sphere is who's and what's what tbh. Is there any step by step guides to follow with examples, I'm not using the expert sphere.

If you're using the Standard Grid it should be fairly obvious which route to take as they are set routes.
You can unlock route with the Lock Key Spheres.

To the trained eye, looks very open and confusing to me.

Follow the path of Lulu and you should get an understanding.
She'll start of with Fire, Water, Blizzard and Thunder. Follow the path and it'll give her Fira, Watera, Blizzara and Thundara. Inbetween these sets of spells are MP +, Magic+ and HP+

That shows the progression available.

I'm in the Calm lands and i've completed everyone's part of their grid, can't advance as i've got no level 3-4 spheres.

Everyone has like 20 ap levels to spend :(

I've also noticed I can play Blitzball after the...

incident in Bevelle

Thought that was greyed out after that part until much later on?

I will finish with Blitzball and then grind to get the level 4 nodes.

Oh I have captured 1 of every animal, and 10 of the first 5 areas.
Another 20-30 hours and everything will be fully ready and will start the top bosses.

That's what i'm doing while i'm grinding my characters before I advance, all I need is 4 more shreds, 5 more Malboroughs, and 9 Anacondaur, then off to the
Cavern of the Stolen Fayth

Also, once you reach Zanakand, the Defenders are a good spot to grind for lvl 3s right? Been such a while since i've played this game.

The Defenders are brilliant for grinding spheres but I think they only drop Level 2 ones, not Level 3... I'll need to check when I get home

They dropped pretty often :)
I was killing them for a while to get 10 Lvl3 spheres. They seemed to spawn a lot more by the save sphere in the dome. Not played FFX for about a week, seemed to have given up :(

As a first time player of this, but generally experienced with JRPGs, briefly what items should I be trying not to miss given that I will only play it once. EG, are the al-bhaed volumes worth collecting?

I have the guide so I tend to play and area and then read the guide to see what I missed, but I dont want to be going back for stuff that isn't going to be useful to me later;not too bothered about trophies either...

Its worth getting the Al Bhed Primers, when you've gone through the game, you sometimes saw blue circle glowing things, once you pressed on them they come up with a bunch of random text, that is infact a password in Al Bhed, which is useful later on in the game.

Also is worth looking around the maps as the Level Key Spheres are much needed for the sphere grid, and there are quite a few chests containing them, also you got the Ultimate weapon items to look out for.

I'm back with another problem :).

Ok so when I attempt to do the first ever jecht shot after that childhood memory no commands actually appear, so Titus goes up n the ball just simply bounces off of his head, I know this isn't right because I quickly looked at a video that successfully does it but doesn't explain how. What am I doing wrong, no commands actually come up during the real thing?

Edit: figured it out, :).

Same happened to me.

One of the most ridiculous(and Japanese) parts of the game...that great shot where you kind of punch the ball against a wall, then spin around or something then jump up in to the air and kick it:confused:...I have no idea what is going on!

Do you see the words during the sequence, that is what you have to aim your joypad at each one of them as quick as you can.

I saved just before it so if I funked it I reset and start again
