The Last Of Us

Have you never played it on PS3, as if not then this a must purchase for you. I must admit, I've played the entire game on ps3 and that one scene isn't far off the PS3 if you ask me, but 60 fps would be nice, I'm getting this but for the reasons its an amazing game and I'd like it on ps4.

I haven't played it on the PS3 so this is a purchase I can justify. :D

You most certainly can, and you'll enjoy this plenty. It was a pretty good looking game on the PS3, so you'll get to enjoy it at a higher res, better FPS and a improved AA solution if nothing else.

you will be one the lucky ones to enjoy the game without knowing about the story. Which in this game is very good.

Sticks in my throat a little bit that this is going to be full priced. Amazing game and I will buy it, but could they not have done an upgrade version for those of us who still have it on PS3?

Got to chuckle at those saying it doesn't look much different..

This still shot shows how much better it is. In motion even more so..

Can't see how they could, they've got no way of knowing you bought the game new in the first place.

Going by that shot the increase in resolution and whatever AA they are using has definitely cleaned up the image quality. In fact, it is night and day. Certainly appears a generational difference. If the image quality is as good throughout the Remaster then it will be a very impressive remake. The game was already quite impressive looking, so a 1080p version with proper AA, running at more or less a consistent 60fps is something to look forward to.

Yeah I suppose. It is the 1 game I will pay full price for as a remaster. I do hope it doesn't set a precedent for other developers to do the same. TLoU was THE game of the last gen, so it does deserve a bigger audience, since not every PS4 owner will have had a PS3.

I wanted confirmation :) My eyes are blurry :)

OK well in that case I apologise :)

The PS3 shot certainly seems more jaggy that I remember, but it is a close-up and I did play it on a smallish 32" tv. The visuals were as good as anything on last gen IMO, but it was never the visuals that were the truly stunning part of the game. That was the story, the characters and the developing relationship between the 2 main characters.

Games are a form of artwork, and this game, in my opinion was a true masterpiece.

Strangely, reading on neogaf there appears to be a school of thought that believes 60fps will be detrimental to the experience. Really not sure where that opinion comes from. Don't think I have ever played a game at 60fps and thought to myself, 'hmmm this would be better at half the frame-rate' lol.

Because it won't have that gritty, cinematic feel to it. Same sort of thing people complained about when the Hobbit was shown in some theatres at 60fps.

But cinema and gaming are 2 very different things. You don't have any control over the camera or character movement in cinema. movement, camera pans etc. - we are used to 24fps. Anything higher just seems strange. I don't think you can make the same comparison with gaming.

I understand the whole 'cinematic experience' argument. I just don't think it applies in this instance as I don't feel the frame-rate of the game was a crucial part of that experience. In fact, for folks like myself that are predominantly pc gamers, it was a bit of a struggle to adjust to playing something at 30fps and under at times.

Guess we shall see, but I genuinely don't envisage the increased frame-rate to detract from the experience. I will trust Naughty Dog to be good judges of that.

Got my Last of Us Remastered pre ordered.

Clickers on 1080P.. Can't wait for this. One of the best games ever made..

Those who never tried it, maybe moved to PS4 from Xbox 360 are in for a treat. This is one game that is really worthy of a remastered edition.

Only problem is having the time to actually play it :o
