But you are just renting - the money has nothing to show for it, it just vanishes and in return you can use the car. Now there are obviously merits to this and situations where it works well but picking a lease - typically the most expensive way to have a car - because you are fed up of 'losing money' seems somewhat counter productive.

Yep, the white really suits this variant of the Focus

To you maybe but I wouldn't have the privacy glass any other way, that's why they are called that so no-one can see in whereas with light smoke they would be able to....

I can understand having privacy glass in a large executive car as they are used as limos but having it on a hatchback is a joke.

I know 1.6 Tdci engines are quite well known for Turbo failure, same in their respective PSA applications. Carbonised oil buildup kills them in the long term, though I don't know if this current engine is the same, I would assume its had multiple revisions. But in the past they have been really rather unreliable.

But if you are under warranty then happy days.

So you don't really know do you, the 16 valve 1.6 diesel you are referring too is fitted to current PSA cars and to the previous Focus, but the current Focus has a 8 valve version. There is a difference in the engines...

I preferred the Candy Red mine had:

White is such a bummer to keep clean. Some here seem to be confused what privacy glass is for, its not always about carrying passengers. Some hatchbacks look better with privacy glass as well but it is dependent upon the colour of the car. However it is a matter of opinion, if you don't like it then vote with your wallet, no-one is forcing you to buy it.
Looks even better on my current car:

We got ours with a bank loan - £10K Loan over 4 years with HSBC £228/month and 2K deposit (£1.5K coming from webuycanycar purchase of her last car).

Car is ours at the end - Mileage for the car will be about 9,000 per year (increase on her previous car) so hoping we should get a good few years after loan is finished trouble free.

Used to Lease/PCP car for her due to low mileage...but last car only did 17,000 in 4 years and as much as the final payment on PCP was £8K we couldn't keep the car as it wasn't big enough for the future (Mini).

Pains me to trade in/hand back a car that has done limited mileage and is spotless - We got £9,500 for her Mini from webuyanycar so had £1.5K deposit for next car.

I used to be a big fan of PCP/Lease etc but it isn't as "clear cut" as some dealers etc make out in terms of TCO - all depends on your circumstance/Plan for the future.

The depreciation is often heavily offset by discount that the lease companies get - so it should be competitive enough.

Probably £200-250ish a month (still a lot for a 1.6 tdci focus imo, but not £400)

I'm also in the market for a new car and like my thread your one seems to have also been hijacked by the 'don't buy new, it'll depreciate' brigade.

Just enjoy it, it's your money.

Well the white is going to take until end of June, they there was a Deep Impact Blue with privacy glass so I'm going for that now instead which should be here in 3 weeks time :D

If you ignore them, there are quite a few great deals out there on leasing or financing.

None of them are on diesel Fords though.

I don't get this post? If I posted an Aventador in white would you lable it recession white? Some people like the colour why does it have a silly tag associated with it?

We had a Lambo Gallardo Convertible pull up at work ironically the other day in White. Still don't like the colour.

Dont mind white but what is that awful light blue you always see on fords, pugs and a lot of Citroen c3's. Every time I see it I expect an old person to be driving it.....
