David Moyes disgracefully sacked

With Moyes having lost the backing of large numbers of his squad and United preparing to spend up to £200 million this summer, the Glazers believe that their and the club’s interests will be best served by a change.

The fact that United haven't denied the rumours speaks volumes, he looks a goner.
Yeah as DM mentioned earlier it looks like they're going to have to make an announcement to the NYSE first before they can officially speak about it.

Surprised they didn't give him to the end of the season, but I guess it gets it known they'll be looking for someone and give them a chance of a pre-season.

I think it's plain to see that it'll be pretty tough to win anything next season, especially if 'Pool are now genuinely up there at the top. Being out of CL might actually help to concentrate on other trophies.

It's clear to see that the glory days are over, for now at least. With the amount of change that is required it'll take more than one season.

Im sure Hull were thinking the same thing last season (and while they havent yet, its not exactly un-thinkable either)

Depends on who is chosen to replace Moyes (IF anyone is chosen), and what players they are able to bring in before the WC (given there isnt that much time between 1st July and when players are likely to jet off to SA).

If we get a top manager.
If he spends £100M+.
He will absolutely compete for the title next year. This is a given - we are Man Utd after all.
We won't give up until the whistle has blown.

It just shows how much our standards have fallen - that fans now believe that we cannot win the league. Remember this, just 10 months ago, our team won the league, with ease. As quickly as Moyes sucked the confidence/ability out of our team, a top manager will instill it back into the players. This is the job of a manager.

You don't go from champions to has-beens in 10 months. Its actually impossible for this to happen UNLESS something drastic is going on behind the scenes. In this case, that was Moyes. But now the cancer is being removed, our players should now return to their previous performance levels. Moyes can no longer be used as an excuse and the players will know this.

We have a great team. Don't let Moyes tell you otherwise.

Think about if other clubs are talking with managers about taking over next year, letting other managers know this job is available is useful. Someone might be talking with Klopp about the Arsenal job for instance and he may believe the board are giving Moyes another year, firing him now might make him consider the Utd job or even make contact with them about it.

They've also spoken about talking with clubs/players about moves already(which they should effectively be doing all season long, it doesn't have to be transfer windows), talking with players about joining Utd with a better manager coming in makes them more attractive to such players.

talk about short memories, united are stupid if they sack him and its just the sadness that is the modern game, chelsea started it, I wonder how long mourinho will hold on for

Sack Moyes, get over to Germany and start wooing Klopp.

He's ideally suited for the job,

- Plays brilliant football
- Good with youth
- Outstanding tactician/motivator
- Knows English
