3930 with 2 titans in sli w/560 and 280 rad overheating at stock ?

I think im going to clean both GPU blocks out and then see if that makes any difference...my thoughts probably not a lot ! Just a note on the above temps they were at 3.8Ghz I.E when the CPU was going into turbo mode..

Lot of different thoughts on the best layout to change it at the moment if possible would take a few days work as when using hard tubesets not easy to take apart !:o

I did some tests temps room was around 23c

Idle temps after 30mins:

then CPU test OCCT 30 mins

After GPU test Vally 2560 Extremme settings for around 45mins you can see the GPU's hit 50 C:

A lot of these temps may not seem to bad but
the case itself is very hot even on the outside and it crashed in left fo Dead 2 I guess hitting thermal (I have set thermal at 70c in the bios ) guess I need to have that set higher ! and in summer my room has hit 31c +

Silverstone TJ11 I believe.

It is !

Update us when you have cleaned the blocks :)

Well I haven't cleaned the blocks yet as I've been doing some testing ! and think I havefound what the main issue is infact its what I thought and mentioned earlier on..:o:)

I decided to see if the fans were working against each other from one rad to the next. So I disconnected the two 180 mm fans in the middle and the 4 x 140mm Fans on the GPU Rad leaving just the 2x 140mm CPU Loop rad fans connected and the single 120 at the top of the case.

With just the CPU loop fans hooked up I did 30 mins OCCT and got the following before I was getting 73c max on the CPU and funnily the GPU's are running cooler with no fans on the GPU...I know there not doing anything but idle before was 26c+ :

Then leaving the CPU fans connected. I connected up the GPU Rad fans back up as well, you can see the higher temps are back 73c max and the fans are opposing each other !:

Just to make sure I then shut down and disconnected all the GPU Rad fans a second time leaving just the CPU Rad fans on and you can see the temps have dropped around 10 c..

So it looks very much like the fans were opposing each other..

That leaves me a few choices the idea of having a second rad in the front was a thought when I was building it like Uncle Petey mentioned. I originaly thought of using the mouse mat that got supplied to make the front plate.

So I am thinking move the GPU fans to the other side pusing from outside to in. move the 280 CPU rad to the drive bays and make a mesh pannel from the supplied mouse mat ..still keep them on seperate loops and the air will be away totaly from each other ! ? ??:)

Set it so that both rad fan sets pull air in form outside through a rad and it meets in the middle, set the fans in the base of the case to pull that air into the case and have that exhaust fan in the roof of the case exhaust it, simple.

So what happens to the hot air being exhausted from each rad into the middle? The psu blocks the other end.

+1 personnaly i would cut out holes in the bottom section where the 180mm fans are and do option one.

The hot air has no way to escape so the heat will build up using OP3.

Now moving the fans and radiators is not as simple as it seems !
as when I swap the postion of the rad the fitting coming out and going to the top area wouldnt line up ! (see two pics below)..
first pic shows the pipes coming up far right to the GPU rad and the middle comming back out of the GPU rad..

Sorry for my poor drawing showing what I mean about aligning up incorrectly...

Surely you don't need to swap the radiator and fan orientation?

I would think all you need to do is literally flip the fans so they are sucking through the radiator rather than pushing through?

Unless there is some detail I have missed in the thread somewhere?

I think it might be possible that our sarcasm detectors may have been malfunctioning there. At least I hope so ;)
