Just been hit..... Poor M135

Seen a 14 plate M5 the other day that had a very similar damage description to yours.

Hope it gets sorted quickly for you.

Same thing happened to my car once a few years back... I'm sure it was never quite right after it was "repaired". Probably all psychological.

Cheers guys.

Lodged it with her insurer direct, waiting to be called back by her liabililty team. I hope, just hope that she is an honest person and doesn't try to 50/50 this or blame me.

Fingers crossed, but tbh Direct Line (my insuer) seemed pretty good when I spoke to them. Pics of my lovely damaged shortly, time for some nice Hi-Res DSLR photos.

It's a pain isn't it. Unbliemished record, drive safely, have done defensive driving practical course, but yet all it takes is someone not looking to plough into you and you can't have even avoided it :/

Make you sure you insist on having it repaired by a proper BMW bodyshop (or better). Don't use the insurer's default bodyshop.

I'm not aware of an m330D.....the M135i is a specific model designation, like the m550D...they have started making half way houses between M powered and M-Sport cars...kinda like Audi that have A4 S-line, S4, and then RS4, the mXXX is similar to the "S4" middleground imo.

Ok got it. Interesting.

BOOOOM!!!!!!!

Liability admitted, Eldon Insurance.

Talked about approved repairer but was adament this is brand new, flawless and going to BMW. Heading down there for a quote and they can sort out ~£5k easily enough, otherwise Engineers might start tyring other cheaper companies. Will obs make sure it's BMW.

Hehe Jonny... No badges on mine though :D

Don't stand for anything less than the best, maybe ask on PH for some recommend body shops. I did and was pointed to Brin-Jones a Porsche specialist, they're the most anal with bodywork.

nice no ballsing around with them trying to claim not their fault after the accident :)
Yeah brand new car should be finished to brand new standard, find the best you can that will ensure that any bodywork/paintwork guarantee you have will be retained.

Round my way BMW use a repairer who doesn't have a particular good reputation. It was good when the father ran the business but since he retired its supposed to have gone downhill.

Just because they are "approved" doesn't necessarily mean they are the best. I'd do your own research into who is best

I agree with this (in my case it was VW). I always try to use my own preferred bodyshop wherever possible and travel about 1.5 hours to get to them. But when I had a rust warranty claim they obviously insisted on their own preferred company and it's certainly not up to the standard of my own place. They also managed to scuff my bumper and had to repair that when I pointed it out.

EDIT: However in your situation I would probably use BMW as well. It would prevent any future paint warranty claims being voided and if a future buyer is aware of the repair then they would probably feel more comfortable with a BMW repair.

Why are you getting involved in the quotes? Surely the point is you have the final say where the car goes for repairs but you leave it to the insurer so you don't have to deal with it. I'm sure you have been inconvenienced enough without doing the insurance company's job for them.

Don't know what you're complaining about Adam, from the pic you sent me I'm sure it will just T-Cut out :p

On a more serious note glad she's admitted liability, do you think any damage has been done to the rear wheel/suspension/chassis?
