Show us your kitty cats

I did a trial run with Dex and the gf's kittens over the bank holiday to see how they would get on prior to her moving in over the summer. It seemed to go surprisingly well, a bit of hissing at first but then they were fine, quite happily playing with each other and sleeping next to one another. I'm guessing it's because they're all still quite young.

My cat (around 12 years old now) has taken to the habit of peeing inside the front door on the mat . Anyone have any ideas why? She has a litter box and free reign to head outside. It's not daily, but it's bloody annoying!

Try buying another litter tray and put it in the exact spot that she is peeing.
Hopefully this will force her to use the litter tray and get her back on track with good litter tray habits.

We tried that, and the vet (on a routine checkup) mentioned to possibly try new litter/litter box. She still uses the box, but occasionally still pees at the front door. Absolutely bizarre and came out of nowhere. Might give it a go with two litter boxes, hopefully when removed she won't keep going back there!

I'd recommend getting a Feliway. Lola used to poop in a random corner and it was just stress I think because we got one and she hasn't done it in about 6 months.

We have a cat who occasionally suffers from cystitis. We know when its playing up as he starts peeing everywhere he shouldn't.
It's a "look, I'm not feeling well" thing.
Vet says it is usually stress related - but he has a pretty stress-free life (unlike our other cat who often gets chased around by stressy).

Just something to keep an eye on if you've a cat who has started peeing where he shouldn't.

Ha Fred, we have a Ragdoll too and the same cat tree :p. How much does yours weigh now?

Lola keeps getting bigger...

Leia is over 4kg, although my scales are a bit rubbish so it's hard to tell exactly. She is currently munching through about 300g+ of food a day.

Think they are supposed to be around the 5kg mark, with the males being double that

Male cats at 10KG.
Hmmm.
Not sure about that.

I think one guy on here owns a Savannah, and he said its about 8KG, I think.
That's about the biggest cat Ive heard of on these forums.

Typically, the largest cats are early generation Savannahs and Maine Coons.

Nope, about right:

Wikipedia said:
A fully-grown female weighs from 8 to 15 pounds (3.6 to 6.8 kg). Males are substantially larger, ranging from 12 to 20 pounds (5.4 to 9.1 kg) or more.

Lola's dad was absolutely huge, definitely around the 10kg mark. She's 4.5kg and 18 months old.

Wheaton.

Originally my sister's cat, I took him in when she was forced to move in to a property which didn't allow pets. It was meant to be a temporary solution for a month or so but he seems so much relaxed here that my sister asked if I would keep him.

Wow he looks like a bruiser :D (and I mean that in the nicest possible way!)

Yeah, looks like he takes no crap.

Sadly he's all mouth and no trousers. If another cat comes near him he just lays there. That said he'd probably just injure himself. Cats, by nature should always land on their feet. He tends to land on his chin.

He has learnt a nice little trick though. He can open closed doors. He jumps up and unlatches them then forces them open.

If only I could teach him to shut them again

She might be seeing another cat outside and is laying her wee to make the house "her patch"

I saw this same problem in a tv show and when the other cat went away...so did the problem.
