The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

Yup. 5 of my main decks are priest, most fun I have playing the game.

Not really. You'll still come across good decks and legendaries.

i came across a level 19 (fully gold deck including a gold hero) not so long ago.

level 20 can be a rough area as a lot of folks farm for easy wins to get the gold hero

And yet it's not on any phones and only 35% of the tablet market

It has a minimalistic design, little/no graphics and a touch screen friendly interface. The game is casual, fast paced and it's Blizzard's only F2P product for the time being. They aimed for phones and tablets from the start, it was released on PC because that's where the Blizzard fan base is.
Don't get me wrong, it's a very good game but its shortcomings (lack of card complexity, few interactions between cards, no trading) are closely related to their aim to go mobile.

Couldn't agree more, my son played his first ranked match last night, got put up against someone who busted out leeroy, gruul and ysera within the space of 4 turns!

Normally I'd recommend starting off in ranked, but judging by comments like yours that I have read lately, it seems the new player experience is getting tougher with each passing week.

Blizzard may need to address it eventually somehow. I admit I don't have a good solution off the top of my head.

I come across similar decks in both modes.

I decided to melt a bunch of my stuff to get ragnaros :|

since the cards I have with value were mostly crap and not flavour of the month

It's gonna get worse. The goal of the game is to collect the cards, so as time goes by, more and more people will have those cards. It just makes starting out as a new player more and more difficult.

Blizzard may need to implement some kind of catch up function or offer new starting players a few more booster packs as a compromise.

Nice. Let's see you hit legend then ;)

Haha as soon as I posted that I went on a losing streak to R6, crawled back to R5 before calling it a night. Will only have a couple of hours this evening so just going to do quests and get ready for new season :)

I'm banding between 7 and 9. Meta is changing so fast. Last night I must have faced 80% Mages at Rank 8  and this morning my friend who was at Rank 2 faced nothing but Murlock! He just swapped to Priest to counter and he's Legend now.

Hmm...seems like you need to have mastered multiple decks to get to legendary.

Back to the drawing board for me!

I know what you're saying and everyone assumes it's true because of the design interface but they've always said tablet versions weren't considered until about half way through development and that tablets also didn't influence the UI/Interaction greatly from what was always intended. Tablet versions were more of a natural fit to the original design than anything. See the recent Ben Brode interview on Value Town for reference. Also they are still looking at how HS will work on phones and have yet to finalize anything there (read: expect delays). It was designed from the start as a PC game. They've said it enough times.

Not that it really matters. 'Tis good game regardless.

I run 4 decks.

Druid Spell/Murloc
Warlock Spell/Murloc
Paladin Rush
Paladin Ramp

I kind of get bored after rank 10, not that I'm really bothered about ranks. I'm a bit like TB, I like to play theme decks and see how far I can take them in a perfect draw.

So far I've created a 40/40 lightwell on a priest, max one turn 50 hit murloc setup with Cenarius :D.

Those are all very fun when a plan comes together, I fancy making a Randwin deck tonight to see how much fun can be had from that :D:D:D

Back to the drawing board for me!

Just from speaking to people on my friends list that are a lot higher rank than myself. They are swapping between 3 or so decks and side boarding cards constantly based on their previous 3 or so games.

Back to Hunter and Zoo frenzy on Thursday (reset) when people try and push through the ranks again no doubt.

Thinking of dusting my golden lord jaraxxus for a more useful legendary. Should i and if so which neutral legendary should be top of the list?

Well thats kinda hard to say, no idea what sort of decks you play and who you already have. If you don't play warlock though I'd definitely DE him.

Obvious choices to craft are Rag/Cairne/Thalnos/Ysera. They fit in the majority of decks pretty well. If you play a lot of rush decks then get leeroy, Black knight is good too.

Managed to get the 'Fireside Friends' card back last night. Pretty simple really, used evolve and played 3 games against people in the lobby there for hearthstone. They show up at the bottom of your friends list and you challenge when there are at least 3 people in the lobby. Hey presto, new card backs unlocked!
