I must admit I'm fairy uneducated in current affairs of central Africa, but this is a terrible and unacceptable thing for any human to do. We as a global society need to begin to understand and accept each others differences,

I think this is a war for resources. The Sahara cannot support Islam in the way it needs to take over all of Africa. They need to push south into the green belt which would be Nigeria, Kenya etc. But these people are resisting and there seems to be a population/ breeding war going on all across this line of sand and jungle. It will go on as long as Islam has designs on Africa and going by the way Islam is still a minority in Kenya and Nigeria it is going to be long and bloody.


Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa and they are already trying to get control of the oil. I watched a BBC show i think where the oil was in the south and the muslims in the north felt they had nothing and it was true there was quite unequal differences in both groups. So you sort of get an idea of the picture going on here where there is a bunch of impoverished Sahara invaders moving south to steal land and oil.

Africa is being torn apart by radical Islam, we need to realise that its a threat to our whole way of life. Imagine a unified Islamic radical africa where do think they would head to next?

Surprised there hasn't been a thread on this already. Pretty horrible that this sort of thing still goes on in parts of the world, but then nothing should really surprise me when it comes to the brutality of Islamic extremists.

I think the name Boko Haram means something like "Western Education is Evil", which tells you a lot about these people too.

intervention in Africa is endless, expensive and at ahuge human cost and you end up fighting everyone. we've tried in the past and we lost too much to go back again.

its up to their own organizations now.

Surely they mean "education is evil".

I'm not aware of any other cultures with such moronic attitudes to education as extremist islam.

Good post. It's not just religion that's driving Book Haram forward. Where there is inequality there's eventually conflict. Saying that though, their interpretation of Islam is certainly extreme and takes a cherry picking approach to suit their agenda.
 
I've studied Nigeria extensively (yes, they have a lot of oil :p), and Boko Harem really are terrible people.

Then again (yes I'm going to be un-pc), it just seems to me to be another outlet for the true nature of Islam.

Because the vast majority of the problems in the country are from the muslim north.



Then again Africa is a bit ahem unsettled.

Most of the wars the west has been involved in for the past 50 years have been about personal gain. The rich and powerful in the west exchanging young peoples lives in war and those third world peoples lives they care about even less, for their own personal agendas. For Vietnam they cared so little about poor or black americans that they created a system in which pretty much anyone with money could buy their way out of the draft. They targeted those without any advantage and sent them to die in a jungle for basically a bunch of white peoples hysterical reaction to the idea that their own people might decide capitalism is bad.

They lied to start a war in Iraq, killing hundreds of thousands and losing thousands of their own, to get the defence industry making billions in profit, to stabilise their profit supply of oil in the region. They didn't give a damn about the innocent people they have and are killing over there, they still don't give a damn as they launch more and more drone attacks every month killing thousands more innocent people at the touch of a button.

The "west" places no value on life at all, money is the only thing politicians/rich people care about, they have killed MILLIONS to get or stay rich, their own people and those in other countries. They also treat their veterans like ****, because once the war is done they couldn't give a ****.

Narrated Kurib: the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas, that Maimuna bint Al-Harith told him that she manumitted a slave-girl without taking the permission of the Prophet. On the day when it was her turn to be with the Prophet, she said, "Do you know, O Allah's Apostle, that I have manumitted my slave-girl?" He said, "Have you really?" She replied in the affirmative. So you want to ignore the majority rule of freeing slaves till slavery doesn't exist, but focus on exceptions which the context or situation we do not know. So

Tribal wars that used to be fought with sticks now fought with ak47s and rpgs.
