*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Anyone had any issues with the console completely locking up since the recent firmware update? Mine has just started and comes up with an error code of CE-36329-3. Sometimes I can get back to the home screen and then it crashes. Other times it goes through a check of the system storage and then gets to a page to report a problem, then crashes. Any ideas on how to sort it? Its been fine up until earlier on when it started doing this.

Edit: Seem to have sorted it after having a look for some solutions. Boot in to safe mode, change resolution, wait for PS4 to reboot, change resolution in settings to 1080i and turn off deep colour output. Its stayed on for a bit now, before it was crashing within a couple of minutes of getting to the home screen.

I spoke too soon, it's still crashing and turning it self off. Anyone any ideas? Might try re-initializing it but I know that wipes the HDD which I'd rather not do if I can help it. Failing that, looks as though it might need to be swapped.

Edit: Looks as though its dead. I've tried all the options in safe mode, rebuilding databases, initialisation (both options) and it lasts a couple of minutes max on the home screen before turning itself off. Bit annoying, so who to contact? Amazon or Sony?

Not sure, Sony used to run a collect and deliver service on the same day.

I rang Sony yesterday and they have set up an RMA although they send you a postage label. It's on a 48 hour service which means it won't get there till Thursday at the earliest. They then repair or replace, which means I probably won't get it back till sometime next week. I'm wondering if I should perhaps cancel the RMA and send it back to Amazon instead.

Did a live chat with Amazon and as my PS4 was with a Killzone bundle, I would have to send it all back for a refund as they don't have any Killzone bundles in stock (other than one on the marketplace), and then buy again. I'll just carry on with the RMA to Sony, probably would take the same amount of time in the end.

Not impressed with this latest system upgrade.

Keeps crashing my son out of Lego Marvel (CE code) and it doesn't seem to be uploading save games (errors in notifications).

Overall I'm not impressed at all with any of the new features either - other than screensaver I don't think I'd use any of them!

All this emphasis on sharing this video or sharing that - I couldn't give a pants about tbh - how about they get the important stuff like media streaming, system crashes etc under control.

Seems the longer I have my PS4 the more dissapointed I'm getting with it.

You do know lego has numerous problems on ps4 technically? It randomly crashes regardless of fw and it's quite clitchy I had it sometimes sit on a black screen but had sound etc, so I wouldn't put that games problems down to the new fw

I've had it since launch on the PS4, and yes I know about the glitches (i.e. characters not appearing etc) which I also used to experience on the xbox 360 version - but never did it completely hang and crash out to an error code on ps4 before.

I had the character issues too and only time my ps4 did crash was on lego it's fine on all my other games so I'd put it down to that game

Stick it to the man is a unique and quirky game. Not a bad title to play uslng remote play on the vita whilst in bed...

speaking of which, I have found that remote play using direct connection is laggy as heck using direct connection...

i played it for a couple of chapters on the vita and although it works great and it very fun i think the touchpad and the thoughts coming through the controller add to the experience so preferred it on the PS4 itself. these are the sort of games that make the remote play feature great though, games with precice controlls such as COD/battlefield dont work at all imo.
