Daily Mail pays damages to J K Rowling

I wouldn't mind if she kept all the money. I would. Then I would emigrate. She made her money through genuine book and film sales, I don't see how anyone could be annoyed at her for being wealthy.

She remained UK based, and doesn't shift her money around to avoid UK taxes.
I couldn't see how that would be a problem anyway since no one on earth is "obliged" by law to actually pay tax unless entered in a registration system.
I would adore her even more if she didn't pay taxes :D

The worst tabloid scum filled hate rag on the planet.

The worst part is that they try to masquerade themselves as a real news outlet. As bad as The Sun is at least they let people know it's a magazine by sticking a pair of **** on the first page after opening it.

J K Rowling wrote her first Harry Potter book when she was living on benefits. She feels that she owes this country something. The country invested in her and now she wants to invest back into the country.

Good on her. :)

Forget it, you're in GD where tax avoidance is admired and something to aspire to.

After all, why should J.K Rowling pay a single penny towards the schools whose libraries stock her books, or the hospitals that look after 99% of her readership, or the police who help ensure people don't just steal the latest in the Harry Potter series from Waterstones, or the roads that are used to distribute her books all over the country? ;)

Not a very good troll attempt 4/10.
