"There is no need to be tolerant to the intolerant" — European Framework National Statute for the Promotion of Tolerance, Article 4

"The supra-national surveillance that it would imply would certainly be a dark day for European democracy." — European Dignity Watch

While European leaders are busy expressing public indignation over reports of American espionage operations in the European Union, the European Parliament is quietly considering a proposal that calls for the direct surveillance of any EU citizen suspected of being "intolerant."

Careful what you say now, "tolerance watchdog" will be on your ass,

Why are people so against the idea of renewing our nuclear weapons capability?

Sure it costs a lot & it'd be nice to spend the money elsewhere, but you might find yourself agreeing with me when the crap hits the fan and we're unable to act. Or rather, when it hits the fan BECAUSE we're unable to act.

The days of Empire died a long time ago. We're just a small island off the coast of Europe. We shouldn't be wasting valuable money trying punch above our weight on the world stage. Our nuclear weapons program costs the tax payer billions. Personally, I'd rather see that money spent on the NHS, education, welfare and other areas of the economy.

Our nuclear deterrent is one of the reasons we are still so important on the world stage despite the fact the empire is gone and we are just a small island. Without Trident we will become almost completely insignificant.

6th largest economy
6 or 7 the largest exporter
4th largest spender on military

We may be small but we always will be world player.

If the UK leaves the EU, you'll see insignificant then, Trident or no Trident.
