Reducing debt, making people work, attempting to make the country self substaining.

We have lived beyond our means for far too long, want massive pensions, earn them, want free health care, contribute, gravy train has stopped, come off of the rails and exploded, who's best placed to fix that?

If this board was representative of the wider population it would be truly terrifying.

With any luck the next UK general election wont be relevant to me anyway.

An eloquent and persuasive response. Bravo.

That's all it deserved

Given what the Coalition are doing, New Labour's era is beginning to look like a golden age.

It pleases me that the left are terrified, they deserve nothing less for ruining the country during Labours reign

Yes there can be. There can't be a dozen Dominant world players, but we haven't been one of them since WWII came to a close.

The UK is one of the most important decision factors in the EU, one of the world players and the biggest economy on the planet.

When a significant political/financial event happens within the borders of a world player, the effects can be observed world wide. In example, the collapse of the US housing market lead to the worst financial crisis since 1927. The possibility of Greece defaulting on its debt in 2010, sent financial markets down by 5% from New York to Singapore. If China were to announce tomorrow a growth rate of 2% instead of the predicted 8%, the world economy would probably go back into recession.

In contrast, any bad news from Brazil or India would have little/no effects outside of these countries. They aren't world players and they won't be for a long time. The UK, outside of the EU, will be just that - a decent size economy but not much more than a regional power.

I know they are terrified and it's so obvious they don't know what to do or how to handle it, hence the constant racist bs.

^ Exactly. And they're starting to realise shouting racist at everyone is no longer working but don't know what to do, so all that they can think of is shout racist even louder. And they say right-wing people have lower IQ's lol
