Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

Just hit 50 on my spellslinger today, no luck with doing much level 50 content though due to the lack of players on the server who are level 50.

But the single player questing around Grimvault is pretty good. Also when you ding 50, you stop gaining XP and instead gain EP (Elder Points), every 75,000 elder points you get 1 Elder Gem, you can buy some pretty decent items for 50+ Elder Gems with the raid gear from 20/40 man dungeons costing ~400 Elder Gems, this gear all has the requirement of having to have beaten that content before you can buy them.

How are you liking the SS at max level? I've been playing other classes to try and pick something less popular for launch but i keep falling back to the SS as it's what i have the most fun on in PvP and enjoy it's gameplay, its only 28 though.

If you don't mind can you post how much xp you roughly get from a mob kill and quest turn in at 50 so we can have an idea of grind time? I don't really enjoy raiding over and over but wouldn't mind picking up some of the gear for completion sake if it's not too grindy.

mob kills give ~2-3k xp each and quests are anything from 40k-90k for the ones I have done so far.

If I remember right it was around 3m xp for 49-50.

After 50, xp is no longer used and its ep instead, that is 75,000 per "level" and a weekly cap of 10.5 million or 140 Elder Gems.

I am struggling to pick a main now lol...warrior or engi lol. Now i havnt played much on the warrior yet but i was wondering how they are tanking compaired to engi lol. I would love to know peoples roles they are wanting to play. what is the guild going to be called, cant wait for release haha

Not sure if this comment is aimed at me :p

Just rolled a new medic, named Rai in game, so if I don't get hold of anyone drop me a whisper/invite if you could :)

Played up to 25 on my other medic, Dominion though so will be good to do these Exile starter areas so i can speed through them on early access!

Sure,
3 people who are on bit now are:
Raidin (Dragon)
Tyra (Tyranade)
Nemeses ..or my alt Seven.

Will add you as a friend, there are not a lot on tbh, loads seem to want to wait till the game starts, or they still scattered on different servers, and cant be assed rolling a new character for the 10 day open beta!

Our TS server : 82.29.43.19 no password required

I started playing this morning, playing an Esper ATM, only got to 5 so far, I like it but there is something I'm not sure of... I just don't know what

What EU servers people planning on rolling on come release?

My US chars all got moved onto a French server, which really sucks, as A) its completely dead and B) the few people that are about don't speak any English! ha

I will be glad when this beta is finally over as I keep logging in to my level 1 character just to look at the graphics. I want to play but I don't want to start over again after the beta wipe.

If you're really tempted just do what I did: pick the class / faction you're least likely to play, and make your character really ugly / give it a dumb name so you don't get attached at all.

I want this as a permanent mount. Level 28 shiphand mission lets you choose a vehicle to go blowing things up. Rocket launchers, ramming shield, railgun and bombs :D

Anyone else got a haunted UI? Various things keep switching themselves on and off. Quest tracking, nameplates, resource, minimap settings - it's incredibly frustrating at times.

If I had Reload UI keybound, that key would be warn out by now.

Any high level medic's ? wondering if the class is worth pursuing ?

I'm planning on having my main Esper on exile side and a second alt class on Dominion but can't decide on whether to go melee or specific healer.

I had 5-15 fps regardless of settings (I had 60 fps in closed beta/winter beta)

This fixed it for me: http://www.reddit.com/r/WildStar/comments/256719/got_major_perfomance_boost_and_stable_5060_fps/

Could for you too.
I got the game running at ok fps last night (mainly by resetting everything to defaults, deleting the folder as suggested on reddit)

Deleted settings folder
Setup the video settings
Then installed MovableFrames and SCastBar
Disabled a few Carbine addons (MessageManager, Tutorial, CombatLog, GameExit & FloatText were all making thousands of calls - seems ok without them)

It's a gamewide bug atm. I use this addon to replace the ingame nameplates http://www.curse.com/ws-addons/wildstar/220006-bijiplates
There seems to be a bug with BijiPlates where it brings the game to 5-10fps judder after playing for a while (the thread on the forums has so many people reporting the problem). I think this was part of my fps problem.
Similar to what happens with the Carbine nameplates addon if you enable everything in it's options.

The game is so much fun on 45-70fps :)

Not sure if I will pre-order but I'm thinking about it atm, going to see how it goes this week.

I'm far from high level, highest my other character got to was 25, but medic has been the class I've spent 90% of my time on.

From what I've played so far I can say it's one of the most challenging healers I've had to play in an MMO, you need to be constantly on the move. From the skills I've unlocked so far you have no heals that are targetted on a specific player, every skill has a telegraph that you need to align to drop on whoever needs to be healed. It certainly adds a lot more to healing that staring at Grid and playing whack-a-mole with health bars :)
This unfortunately also means that you're semi-reliant on your group members paying attention to your position as well as their own. You'll get the occasions when they run away screaming for heals as you're trying to desperately chase them down. Most of the time I just ensure the tank is within my range of heals and let them know if they want reliable heals to stay around me :p

The heals themselves are a mix of HoTs and a few larger heals you have to cast for a single burst.

The dps seems to be pretty reasonable too for levelling, you can pull 2-3 mobs and nuke them down without too much difficulty, just so long as they're within an appropriate level range because things get real hairy real fast when you pull a few mobs that are a couple of levels higher than you!
