Do you genuinely want the best HiFi?

just lol at this whole thread, how hasn't it been deleted by a mod?

It's up to the buyer to decide what they want to spend and as long as it's within their means and they are happy then who cares what random internet opinion is, regardless of £500 or £50,000.

Who are you to say you are annoyed at these people being ripped off? But hey, my buddy here wouldn't do that to you, he wants to change the world.... oh please. This side pitch has been done a million times across every industry imaginable - if it was a real game changer then it would already be featured EVERYWHERE.

Thing is, it could have been interesting had the OP come here with some objective evidence. Instead he seems to be trying to persuade people that something is objectively better with what appears to be subjective evidence

OP. You claim this kit is the best sounding. Please bring forth the evidence. As above, if that £800 sub can perform at a 'reference level' then it would be quite a serious product.

If you had say £500-£2000 to spend what would be the best bang for your buck setup.

£2000 gets you HD700-HD800 and the Oppo 105 which will amp and use a reference quality DAC and act as a streamer and swiss army knife of video and audio. It is probably the best bang for buck bit of AV equipment out there according to reviews. Later on u can upgrade the cable away from 6.3mm to XLR for more quality and power.

Also headphones will never match speakers, sorry but it's just not possible.

Unless acoustics change in the £400 and up bracket then this would be controversial to say the least as headphones spank speakers in everything but impact and bass. I do miss that but the clarity in headphones and SNR mean i can hear a pin drop at comfortable levels without my neighbours getting bounced around from a huge subwoofer either. Speakers = impact and headphones clarity.

I guess it is a bit odd. Like I say I have first hand seen the rip off products and it really annoys me. It's the reason I'm not pursuing my career in audio because it's far too corrupt, even though audio is my passion.

Why would you not care what I have to say? It sounds like my opinion offends you perhaps for the reason I feel unable to post directly telling people they paid too much :(

why would I not care about what you have to say? I wonder. As I said, I bought what sounds good to my ears (bk sub with pmc speakers driven by yamaha and musical fidelity amps and various sources) so why would I give a monkeys about some kit ive never even heard of. I'm not the only one with a similar setup on here and most of the other forums ive been on for hifi and av stuff, so they must be doing something right.

The general advice to anyone buying HiFi is buy which every sounds best to your ears.

Not because some guy says so on a forum.

Possibly the shortest two sentences in this thread but I think they are possibly the most important two!

One of the great thing about the Internet and forums is people trying to be helpful and pointing out new manufacturers and/or products but I think its incredibly naive to post saying everything on the market is crap apart from this particular company.
Also think it's strange that you mention spending more than around £700 is pointless when even the company you recommend only has one product at this level.

So would you be Ashley James the admin of the avi forum?

This is the kind of thing i was thinking about.

Op,you seem to come here with bold claims that everything else is bad except your friends stuff, seems to me you are promoting him.

Lets not turn this into another ****ging match, people will buy what there A-budget allows
B-what sounds good to them.

I have a set of logitech z5500,not the best in the world but do me for £100.

Have a listen to PMC Twenty.26 then tell me that is true :p

Well I read a few of the classifieds on the forum and the admin has same post style, and really hypes up the AVI stuff....obv Im not the forum detective though..I have 5.1 monitor audio set up and some 10euro usb speakers for the laptop haha I need an upgrade.

Is this thread still going????? If so why?

I read the opening post last night and thought it was one of those ad posts you normally see as the first post of a new user setup to post the add, sorry comment.

I don't think trying to sell his product on a pokey HiFi section of a computer forum would be time well spent.

It seems you dont spend a lot of time here judging by your post count, there are a lot of people with good hi-fi's on here and i would personally listen to them if ever i wanted a good hi-fi.

If you think this section is "pokey" then you can always stay on the other forum :)

Depends on how his general sales are going I would imagine, and how many dedicated HiFi/AV forums he has been banned from already :p

Oh Raymond, you and your little mind!

This post struck me as odd.

You have been posting a lot of claims, and you have never posted one reason.

Now I know NOTHING about Hi-Fi, but this thread was always on the top page and I decided to take a look.

You posted they are the best, but you never said why, or how. Raymond has been trying to explain to you why they are not the best, or rather, why they are not as good as you think, and you just answer with stupid statements like this.

Yeh, I was just messing around.

Raymond's HiFi knowledge is nothing to mine. And on that statement I'm getting my coat!

This is the sort of thing I make.

BTW I don't even own of the AVI stuff although I have heard my friends. I prefer to make all my own stuff. This is the back panel for my active speakers that I'm in the process of making. It looks messy because this is temporary wiring, it's going to be taken apart and the metal sent off to be anodised.
