Banks caused financial crises when labour in power, Con dems, making the worst off people in the country pay with forced unpaid labour, Sanctions, bedroom tax and relentless attack on the sick and disabled. More people having to use food banks, suicides on the increase among the not so well off, welfare reforms that's costing the taxpayer billions and failing those who need help, A work programme that is a disaster, punishing part time workers who claim in work benefit when the shambles of Universal credits get rolled out , I could put up links to all these facts but just couldn't be bothered to sift through them. Conservative voters are uncompassionate, I'm all right jack pull the ladder up types who live in a parallel Universe.

Couldn't have put it better myself! Whoever was in power at the time the banks crashed would have carried the can. However labour under ed are a shambles he's not PM material and unite picked the wrong brother. But anyway ukip racist, Tory nasty etc, etc.

Yeah well done, you're not voting but you're going to continue voicing your political opinion. If you don't vote then nobody cares what your opinion is.

The number of spoils is counted and an increase sends a message to the political establishment. I spoiled in last local election as there was only a choice between lib, lab and con

Check out how they are helping your area to expand. Don't forget reducing debt and trying to help the economy grow is a massive task.

LOL give them your email addy and the tory party will say "look how many people have joined us"

To fast for that **** ;)

So I put in a silly email addy and what it come back with was just rubbish..

They are counted but as far as I'm aware there's no way to distinguish your intentionally spoiled ballot from that of the person who managed to stuff up putting their cross in the correct box. It might be the best way we've got to express dissatisfaction with the political process but until a different category is introduced for intentionally spoiled ballots you're lumped in with anyone who wasn't competent to fill in the form. Essentially the political establishment has to make an extrapolation, if they are so inclined, to determine whether an increase in spoiled ballots indicates dissatisfaction with them (or the process) or whether the competence of voters has simply gone down since the last election.

I don't know who I'll vote for yet so I'm abstaining from the poll.

I knew he was a tool but I had no idea he was this bad, he is ann embarrassment to this country and I have no idea how he hasn't been banned from European politics O.o

He comes across a lot better there then any of is recent TV appearances. Although if it was a cartoon there would be some tumble weed flowing through the room when he sits down.

The number of people who could vote but don't is counted. Why do you think that a non-vote with a spoiled ballot paper is different to a non-vote without one?

If you disapprove of all the candidates, fine. I understand that. I even agree with it. But not voting by spoiling your ballot paper is at best just a form of slactivism. It doesn't do anything. Politicians (and possibly reporters) might get a faint message that some people are dissatisfied with politics, if they bother paying any attention to the pointless non-votes. And? That's hardly news to them and it doesn't matter.

I chose "other" because I haven't yet decided which candidate I least want to not vote for. I reject all of them for different reasons - which one do I reject least? I don't know.

All politicians are sleazy scumbags who are in it for themselves and their expenses. The last man with honourable intentions in the houses of parlament was Guy Fawkes...
