Vegetarianism: what if we didn't eat meat

No words. Not sure if serious. If serious, you make the world a worse place to live with your presence.

Thanks for your kind judgement, O God-like One :) Hunger and desparation decimate all manner of social conditioning. It is almost impossible to predict how one would react. There are documented accounts of people taking the cannibalism option.

Have you looked into B12 deficiency in any detail? It can occur gradually over a period as long as a few years after switching from an omnivorous diet to a vegan diet (existing stocks of B12 are reused very efficiently). Due to the gradual deterioration, you can quite easily get the stage of permanent irreversible damage before being forced to acknowledge the problem. It's impossible for humans to get B12 naturally from plants. You can get vegan B12 - it's a waste product of some bacteria so it can be grown in a lab/factory. It's added to a lot of vegetarian products, but it's not naturally occuring in any of them. You get it from eating animals (or animal products, i.e. eggs and dairy) or you get it from supplements or you deteriorate slowly and nastily (and die if you keep on without it). You can also get it from faeces, but that's a rather unappealing option.

I will look into it a little more, cheers. We do have B12 fortified Soy Milk, but it's disgusting (use it for smoothies with fruit so its at least drinkable), and we eat Tempeh, but it does look like it's probably a good idea to start supplementing it.

Are we talking about a desperate situation few, if any of us here will ever be in? No. You are trolling an extreme to be 'internet cool' cause lol.

I responded directly to a post, 'if god didn't want us to make animals, why did he make them of meat?'

I point out humans are also made out of meat. In fact, there is very little difference between human meat and animal meat.

Yet cannibalism isn't the norm.

If you want to get all smarmi deep derp 'if you were in a plane crash and had to eat the survivors lol' I kindly say off with you, go back to the cave from wence you came and grow up.

I genuinely believe that if the majority of the worlds population were vegetarian, the world would also be a more compassionate and gentle one too.

I dont think so, as I think there is a direct correlation between being obnoxious and being a vegetarian. More friction and war would be inevitable

Why? being a vegetarian is just as wrong and evil as eating meat. If its wrong to eat meat its wrong to eat veg. Why would being a vegetarian make the world better? Vegetarians kill far more living organisms then your average meat eater. Its just Vegetarians like to pretend they are not killing anything.

We probably end up with eyes like a deer due to evolution.

Because if we didn't hunt for meat, which need stereo vision with eyes at the front, then we would become the hunted which means eyes more to the side so see a bigger angle of view.

Since people wouldn't bother looking after animals for foods, by eating meat are we arguably doing the animals a favour by causing them to be bred and looked after in the first place?

Do vegetables have souls ?

What an odd thing to say. If we didn't eat animals, we wouldn't need to breed them for food.

I think what you meant to say that because we do eat animals the welfare standards are high and so at least they are looked after?

Do Animals have souls? The point is if its wrong to eat meat as its a living organism then why is it ok to eat vegetables which are also living organisms?

Why is it ok to eat and kill one living organism plants, but wrong to eat and kill the other living organism meat? Surly its either ok to eat both or wrong to eat both?

As for souls if those are real surly all living organisms have souls which includes vegetables. If only some living organisms have souls how are we meant to know which ones do and which ones don't?

I guess having a central nervous system would be the deciding factor. Plants don't feel pain. But then there are a few living creatures who also lack a CNS.
