Alright mate is installing the 8,1 preview simples? I've signed up for a developer account. Is it just a case of finding the app in windows store?

Very simple, install the app, open app, tick the box in the app.
Install, install another version (maybe install another version), install wp8.1.
So very easy, just takes a while, like several hours.

The 1520 was far too big for me so it's back in the box for return. Once again eagerly awaiting the 930! I hope it lands soon

Can anyone answer if the 930 has the double tap to wake feature?...as im not worried about glance, but do use the double tap a hell of a lot.

As far as I know, double tap is tied to glance so that shouldn't work. It won't be solved with an update either as this is a hardware issue (cf. wpcentral).

When my missus was on her Lumia 800, I kept double tapping her phone, expecting it to come on. Its so easy to get use to it, hard habit to get rid!

Well that puts a spanner in the works as I cant imagine not having double tap, Glance I can do without.

Looking at the specs on the Nokia site it does list it as having double tap - http://www.nokia.com/global/products/phone/lumia930/specifications/

+1 for battery life info, especially if you can compare it to a 1520.

I can't compare it to a 1520, but I've had it off charge since yesterday morning 8am and it's on 28% now. Medium useage.

A colleague that uses a 1520 loves the battery life. My 1020 was good on battery, but so far this thing has been great. Please note however that this isn't public SW, so it's all subject to change.
