I will proudly vote for UKIP. Their core issues needs to be discussed openly. For many many years no-one wanted to discuss the erosion of the British culture, nor the immigration issue, until UKIP have forced the main parties to address it.
How does European worker migration and membership in common market (UKIP's two main core issues) erode British culture? Can you expand on this topic for me, I have a genuine interest in this outlook/subject?
Society in the country in my view has changed radically and for the worse. What about social cohesion, protecting our values, protecting our interests over those not born and so on. This is not something to be ashamed of!
I do not want to belittle this part of your post, because I still want to hear the answer to the first question above, but if I asked you to imagine the above quote being recited by someone in sharp voice, with vivid gesticulation, hair combed to the left and Charlie Chaplin's moustache, would you share my amusement with the historical similarities attached to the tone and presentation of your view?
If one waves a union jack in the UK they are seen as a fascist, a xenophobe. In Britain we shy away from the Union jack, feel ashamed, look to the floor, apologetic .... That cannot be right!
But is this union jack issue forced upon you by European migrant workers and do you think separating from common market will improve the use of British flag across the land? Also, perhaps less dramatic than every household flying the flag on their door step, but isn't union jack on every pack of frozen chicken in Tesco, and t-shirts, mugs and hats of every street corner in London?
In China they hang a flag outside every government building, every school, college. Kids are paraded out every week to see the raising of the flag. I like this idea. It beings together a society, instils a sense of comradery, a sense of unity and belonging.
In North Korea people have such deep rooted sense of camaraderie they literally burst into tears when they catch glimpse of their leader. I for one, think I would be close to bursting to tears if Nigel was my leader as well. So in the most peculiar of ways, I think voting for UKIP could indeed result in adoption of at least some of the customs from communist cultures. /pauses expecting laughter, then lowers head and reaches for a coat/
Churchill once ordered an attack on their allies, the French during WW2, sinking a lot of their fleet as it was in danger of falling into German hands and the French wouldn't fight, nor hand over to the British to be manned. Do you think any man in West minister would have the courage to do something like. Not a chance!
I think we can all agree a lot of things that were done during WWII, on both sides of the trench, wouldn't be possible today with CNN camera crews present, but I suppose the question has to be asked - do you feel getting rid of EU migrant workers and separating from common market (or any other UKIP "core issues that need to be discussed") is the only thing that stops Philip Hammond and Mark Francois sinking French fleet today and would you or Britain in general be better for it if they did?
People in UK melted down their garden railings, their metal items to be transported to the factories, to be melted down for weapons. Would this happen now?
I'm desperately looking around the room for answers and I'm about to say "no, because of EU migrant workers"?
Thatcher, for whatever your opinion of her was, defended the nation during Falklands war with pride. Regan was dead keen to help out but she said we will do it alone. When the Falklands were invaded, they navy was not ready but we had ships pouring out of Southampton in 2 days. Imagine this was today. Cameron would be debating it in parliament, making strong statements but still doing **** all. Milliband would be flying to the Falklands with open arms thinking a group hug would solve everything, tweeting about it on the way.
Man speaks the truth, where is Tony Blair when you need decisive military action and can Nigel be our Tony?
Britain has a rich 1000 years of history from Alfred the Great to the 100 years war to Henry 8th, to Churchill and Thatcher. (...) Many, many men have died for this country or dedicated their entire lives to protecting Britain, its identity, its heritage and its culture. And all this 1000 years has be ****ed away in a few years by a lot of soppy, baby head-kissing twits. It is truly a shame, a great shame indeed.
And you feel EU migrant workers took away what men who died for this country gave their life for?
Look... I can see there is anger and passion in what you post, so I will even if just for a second try and treat your post with gravitas as if it wasn't just a lot of ramblings on completely unrelated to UKIP subjects...
A lot of people find the world outside their window, in second decade of twenty first century, to be frustrating and moving too fast. But getting frustrated about globalisation and fighting with progress and changes is akin to luddites fighting with technology and machinery almost two centuries ago on a dot. Almost not a single country on earth looks the same as it did 30 years ago. It also never again will (look the same). You seem to know your history, so go through your memory, through all the history you know and try to see if the following isn't true:
Opposing changes and diversity can feel noble and patriotic, but in the end, it rarely is. The view that birthright provides some sort of priority over the land and allows for ethnic and/or cultural segregation, is never right and never ends well. No form of discrimination ever restored what was presumed to be lost in the nation, only caused more trouble. Closed door policy never led to the land or nation growing in strength. America and China, you quote for reference and example, would be an example and result of integration of many, many different cultures and nations?
