Dunno if everyone's ballot papers are the same, but..

On mine, at the top there was a party called "UK Independence Now" then loads more, then the real UKIP at the bottom.

Imposters! Are these people sub parties of the main 3 parties that intent to steal votes away from their main rivals (UKIP)?

Nope, They're mostly ex-UKIP people who got disenfranchised with the leadership refusing to be more extreme.
Its a shame really, as they detract from the anti-eu message vote.

You need something like gas to backup renewables. Nuclear is only good at base loads.

No you don't, you just need a reservoir.
Pump water to top when it's windy / sun shining / tidal
Open gates to turbines when not.

Base load sorted and one of the quickest reacting sources too!

There's a geothermal district heating project in the centre of Southampton and has been there for ages.

Oh yeah? I didn't know that. In the UK we have very few. In Denmark (bear in mind that their population is only 6 mil) they have nearly 300, and they do fantastically with it. They're way more efficient over there - they concentrate on efficiency rather than new methods of energy generation, so they use a hell of a lot less energy overall.

Just been out and voted green, was edging that way anyway and went on vote match which had me agreeing with more of their policies than any other by quite a bit.

A few weeks ago I wasn't going to bother, can't see myself ever voting for the main three parties again anyway.

I believe the Brunswick estate works the same way. Seemed popular in London in the 60s.

Pumped storage is part of the required mix required to provide constant power but good luck running it as the only backup of renewables in this country. As you say it is the quickest at reacting but that is the only thing it is good for, not for regular backup of renewables.

He's an uncompassionate Tory who wont listen to reason or even give a damn about his fellow human beings unless they got plenty, it's their trademark, just watch this evil piece of work, Tefal and Duncan Smith are from the same stock.

I have no time for people like this. They make my blood boil. All they bring to the table is poison.

The prospect of UKIP coming in to power is worrying. As much as I dislike immigration, UKIP are a one trick pony and have no experience in other areas. However the exposure that UKIP are getting are showing the conservatives what the UK people feel the pressing issues are and I feel that'll act upon it whilst using their experience to continue improving the economy and other areas.
