Why they make these so inaccessible on BMWs really boggles the mind.
Replacing on my Z3 was a ball ache. Ended up replacing the blower in the end and was left with very little skin on my hands after 90 minutes of trying to get it in!!
And I had it shipped from LA. Thankfully it's the same part as the Z8
Mind you, changing one of the headlight bulbs was complete mare as well. Failed the MOT due to misalignment and then it took 2 BMW techs over an hour to change it. Mental.

I only paid 15mins labour for the bulb as that's what's in their system
At least it wasn't a Renault where the front bumper needed removing!
mine now!Had a Scenic where Renault charge for front bumper removal - is isn't easy, you DO have to take the silly plastic vanity bits off but it's doable with bumper in situ
took my lotus excel for a bore scope today to see what was what in preparation for some head work
was asked when it had had new liners and pistons

then was asked how many miles it has done,
they were very surprised at 140k
looked more like a 50-70k mile car

New rear droplinks and tyres. Now the car won't try to kill me in the wet, I hope.
