Ford Focus 2005-2008 Trim Levels

I have a 2007 '57' reg Ghia.
Dad had it since 6 months old and I bought it off him.
It has done just over 90,000 miles and has a 2.0 TDCI engine, which I got remapped.
It takes ages to heat up - So much so that with the facelift they cheated by adding an electric heater in the air vents!
The wheels on the Ghia are prone to 'white worm', which is when water gets under the lacquer on diamond cut wheels and looks like white rust. It is harmless but looks messy. I had my wheels refurbished.
The Ghia wheels are 16", but I like them as the tyre is still sufficiently deep that does not catch kerbs as it is the tyre that hits. This has saved me a few times.

I do not like diesels, nor need one, but the good nick this was in with 95% known history made it a no-brainer. Especially when I bought it for the trade-in value of £4000 in March 2012!
Also watch out for rust where the very bottom of the rear doors meets the rear wheel arch! Stones pummel the paint there. Also check rear arches as mine are starting to go brown - Not happy! Will get a bodyshop on it this summer.
Mine is not a facelift. The facelifts are prettier, but all diesels will be DPF. Pre-facelift does not, but it was an optional extra from the factory (seriously...wtf?!).
Avoid the 1.6 115hp version as it is horrific on fuel. Afaik this was only available pre-facelift and was soon ditched.

The specs of my Focus are:
2007 Ghia
Cruise control
All electric windows
Electric mirrors (not auto folding)
5 door
Nicer Sony stereo that the ST had. No idea on speakers but pretty good imo
Heated windscreen (a must in my opinion!)
Regular A/C

thanks rodenal, but is that the 100ps versions?

I will be doing short journeys (my work journey is short) and im going to start doing some Clycling club stuff, like Time Trials and Hill races which are all in the next villages, so it wont really be driven for long periods of time, but the odd occasion I will use it for to get to town (20-25 mins away) or a weekend trip away)

No the 115 - it's an odd little thing

so yours is a diesel then or did you change it?

I've got 2005 2.0 Ghia.

Ghia is the better spec. It comes with:

Auto lights and wipers
Cruise control
Heated front and rear screens
Front fogs
A/C
Lumbar alteration
Centre arm rest and storage
17" alloys

Its the spec to get out of the ones listed. The wood trim is a purely the Radio surround and very easy and cheap to change.

Engine wise get the 1.6 or the 2.0.

The 2.0 is noticeably more powerful than the 1.8 and gets very similar mpg. I'm getting 40mpg+ over the 30000 miles I've ran it.

you sure its got 17" alloys?

doing some more research, the Titanium doesn't have cruise control (might be an optional extra though), 16" 5 spoke titanium alloys

all the other things you mention are standard on the zetec climate and Ghia models.

I think the upgrades from Ghia is leather seats

thought they had parking sensors, but parkers says they don't ?

I may have got the alloys wrong. Mine has 17s, it also has parking sensors which are probably options that are worth looking out for when buying.

I think the auto dimming rear view mirror is something I've missed off that is standard though.

Titanium does not come with cruise as standard. Zetec spec plus:

Auto Lights
Auto Wipers
Auto Dimming Mirror
Different Seat cloth
Small storage compartment on dash
Different Alloys

Options on Titanium are:

Cruise Control
Bluetooth
Keyless Entry
Parking Sensors.

I have a 56 plate 2.0 Ghia. Options include heated leather sears, Sony HU and 8 speakers, digital climate control, rear parking sensors. Had a new clutch/DMF at around 110000 miles and the alloys have been refurbished (painted due to terrible whiteworming).

I personally love the car, being cheap to insure as a first car and has plenty enough power for the first few years. Has a stuck open thermostat at the moment, so take my 28mpg (80% town) with a pinch of salt. The ride is more on the comfortable side, although that is partly due to the soft sidewalls on the current tyres, sound system is decent generally, very refined as well, although only having 5 gears can make it slightly tiring if you like to go fast on the motorway.

Regarding the wood trim, it isn't really that bad as its very glossy and quite dark, I thought I would've hated it, but it's been fine, only one friend has commented on it.

got a 56 plate zetec climate, 1.8 tdci utterly faultless bar a dmf/clutch at 100k

been with us 3 years never had any problems wife ritually abuses is day in day out. still managed a solid 65 mpg on a long run

so what's the Sport "s" and Zetec "s" models ?

this one has come up on the bay that looks good, but no idea why its an "S" model

looks good for the price. i have seen a few sport s models for sale and they dont look any different other than the alloys.
I have had 3 Focus's and they have all been faultless! great cars. Get either the Zetec looks sportier and has tinted front lights which look better or get the Titanium for the half leather interior.
the ti vct 115hp 1.6 is the best engine in my opinion when accelerating over 3k revs i could not feel any difference between that and the 2.0 engine in terms of pace

There is no such model as a "Sport S" Its a boggo Sport which is pretty low spec wise until 60 plate when the old model were starting run-out so Ford took a Zetec and added extra bits from Titanium and called it a Sport.

The "Zetec S" is an actual model and is a boggo Zetec with a sports styling kit on it:
