A project tube box ds would rule too.
That is sweet sounding. Are you using one?
Nice! Great to see another turntable buy.![]()
I've inherited around 200 records from my Dad (he died a while back but I've only just thought to actually take the records now), and he has the same taste in music as me, so I've already got a great collection of stuffWe've spent all day listening to things today, I love it.
I'm waiting for a carbon fibre cleaning brush to arrive from Amazon as a lot of the records are dusty so there's quite a few pops when playing. My fiancee and I have bought quite a lot of reggae/dub stuff though, and it's sound bloody amazing!
One of the problems with vinyl is it degrades pretty badly if you don't set up the tonearm counterweight right (it literally digs into the vinyl if it's too heavy, and it degrades anyway over time due to the nature of the format). So the condition of what you've inherited will depend entirely on how well your dad set up his table. A cheap way of cleaning it is wood glue. Vids on youtube showing the method.
I run my cart at 1.8 tracking force which should be ok. There's lots of problems running at the wrong force for your cart - you can ruin vinyl as you've said.
Got home absolutely wasted at 6:30 yesterday morning, had 4 hours sleep, spent the whole day awake today, kipped for 15 mins when I fell asleep on the floor at about 8, now I'm totally wired and can't switch off. ffs
