It's called remittances, quite common. You send money home to look after the family.

£30 million isn't that much in the greater schemes of things.

it is when it's going to be a growing number with romanians and bulgarians and how many of these claims will be fraudulent ?

anyway the point of it all is we have no control over it the EU does.

Nigel Farage is an ex-banker (he was educated to become one).

Putting a banker in charge of an economy will sure do good (hint my sarcasm).

So he'd be both the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer?

Interesting political twist but I'd guess Farage make someone else the 'Master Of Coin'.

Even if Westminster didn't have any control over it (reality: it does), we are a member of the EU. We jointly control the EU.

UKIPers speak as if we have zero control over the EU, like it's a conquering power. The only scenario in which that is true is if our elected MEPs don't turn up to vote. Oh wait...

Or they always vote against whatever proposal is tabled because the EU have tabled it. In a vote on banning the ivory trade there were several hundred for and 14 against. 6 of those were UKIP one being Farage.

we jointly control **** all, it's all an illusion we have no real power in the EU, they just dictate whatever the hell they want.

it's as corrupt if not more so than eurovision lol

Who are "they"? Your argument can be used from the point of view of any country. According to your logic, Germany has no real power, France has no real power, Poland has no real power. no one has power yet "they just dictate whatever the hell they want".

We have a winner in the "first new UKIP councillor to be outed as racist/homophobe" race.

Don't worry though, there's just as many people like this in all parties.

Labour have someone who has used racist comments (on more than one occasion) on their front bench. UKIP sack people for this, Labour don't.

Cheers!

UKIP are just compiled of ***** really. Just seem to get voted by people who are blind to how they act, but want out of EU and stop immigration so UKIP it is..

That's the annoying bit, living here in an ex mining town, where everyone pretty much suffered during the Thatcher years and are anti-Tory only to vote for what essentially equates to Tory on Steroids.

Apart from immigration, their views on workers rights, unions, women's rights and the privatisation of NHS would make Margrate turn in her grave.

It is these voters that makes me worry a lot when people demand for a referendum on EU, when they can be fed misinformation so easily.

Seriously? That's sickening. Is there sauce for this?

What is sick about it? They are not saying they are in favour of the Ivory Trade, they just don't want the EU to make decisions regarding it. It's almost certain they knew the motion would pass, so their voting against it is nothing more than a political statement.

Why the UK itself hasn't enacted laws to prohibit the ivory trade already is beyond me. But it won't make much difference anyway as China is the real market for ivory.

Or they've got loads of ivory stashed somewhere.

You look through votewatch and it's shocking what UKIP voted for and against over the years. They were against adoption of new rules on lorry design aimed at making them safer for cyclists and pedestrians, stood against abolishing of roaming charges, voted against new regulations tackling international money-laundering by criminal gangs, voted against legislation elevating rape within marriage to criminal offence, voted against delegalising cultural practices as an excuse for honour crimes and banning female genital mutilation ( only 13 MEPs in the EU parliament voted against it, 7 of them were UKIP MEPs Nigel Farage included), voted against improved protection for regional produce ( thus supporting idea that "Newcastle Brown Ale" or "Stilton Cheese" could be made somewhere in France for Tesco), they were even against standardised mobile phone charger connectors.
And everyone hates me for banging on about five times a day, but since fisheries were on their manifesto, let's not forget that UKIP practically abandoned British fishing industry by not turning up to 41 out of 42 fisheries committee meetings and tried to decimate it by voting for scrapping Shetland Box and giving away British fishing waters to Spanish fleet.

I'd really like that presented in a nice graph of some sort. That Votewatch site doesn't know who UKIP is apparently :p

Inb4 the Dm haters, UK taxpayers are spending £30million-a-year sending child benefit to families who live ABROAD across the European Union.
David Cameron has admitted it is ‘impossible’ to stop the cash being exported each year by migrant workers whose families are spread across the continent.

Almost two-thirds of the families are in Poland, claiming for 22,093 children.

Tory MP Andrew Rosindell, who obtained the figures through a parliamentary questions, said: ‘I have a very simple view of this. I think that a common market does not mean we have a common benefits system.
‘I don’t believe that anybody coming in from the Europe Union should get any benefits at all until they are more permanently settled in this country. I think it should be five years before they get benefits – three months is not good enough.

£30m is 0.00004% of UK public expenditure.

It is the equivalent if you not bothering to stop, bend down and pick up a 10p piece.

I am sure it is easily covered and then some by the extra production (and therefore jobs and tax revenue) these migrants bring to the country.
