Show us your kitty cats

Obligate carnivore, shmobligate carnivore, right? ;)

Bet things would be very different if your guys weren't balancing their deficiencies with their outdoor hunting. Winston is indoor only, so making sure he is getting the right balance is more important (I don't think the odd spider/fly he manages to chomp are going to do much).

2 years of raw diet and he is in impeccable shape. :p

Been feeding mine Butchers Classic for ages now after trying all the rather expensive ones and it works the best for me. My two are indoor only and Butchers Classic produces happy cats with no smelly poop and is light on the wallet. Both had a check-up recently and the Vet said they were in perfect health so that must account for something. I don't feed them dry food at all, only wet (Butchers Classic) and sometimes some raw beef mince.

Yep, Butchers is the best of the affordable foods for sure.

Winston only eats raw now (apart from the complimentary foods that are just meat in broth), mixture of Natural Instinct Rabbit/Game Bird/Venison, and buying him fresh beef/chicken and mixing that with Felini.

My cat Cleo, 4 years old now :)

I thought I would add to the food debate lol. I too am feeding my MC boys raw in the evening and morning, although they turned up their noses at the Natural Instincts Venison lol. Then in the afternoon I feed them Animonda Carny as this has a good balance of meat and other nutrients and they love it. I have also found Cosma at Zooplus and they do love this although its not specifically for kittens so not 100% if its ok to give them this as well as the raw to alternate things. I also get some boneless cod from the supermarket which is frozen and then you microwave it just as something different once in a while. But thanks for the Felini tip Krooton, I'll get them some raw mince from the supermarket and add some of this to it.

Yeah, Felini is a great back up for when they suddenly decide they are not in the mood for normal food.

Winston NEVER turns down raw chunks of beef/chicken, so being able to make that more balanced means that he always has something to eat, even at his fussiest.

Just to bump my pic from two years ago...

He was my daughters cat, but I loved this cat so much. Unfortunately he died from suspected poison/or brain tumour on Wednesday and there was nothing the vets could do to save him. He gradually lost complete control of his body and had to be put to sleep. :( He really was the most loving, attentive cat I have ever come across - he was more like a dog than a cat. It left us all deeply saddened, he was part of our family.

RIP Meiko <3 :(

There was some good news not long after, as the breeder who sold him to us saw my partners posts on Facebook regarding my cats death. She felt sorry for our loss, and offered us the choice of any of a new litter of female Siamese kittens for absolutely nothing (they share the same mother as the above cat), as a present to my daughter to cheer her up. Nothing can replace my old cat, but this was extremely kind of her considering these kittens cost quite a lot, and we will hopefully pick up a beautiful little 15 week old (I think) Siamese kitten tomorrow.

I will post some pics of the new one when received! :)

Sorry to hear.

Meiko's gone to heaven to play with my little kitty Jet who died 3 years ago.

Meet Shadow, our relatively new Somali kitten, she's settled in nicely and couldn't be more loving.

This is her sister, Willow, she hasn't really settled in at all, she bolts whenever we come close and certainly won't let us touch her :(

Time to break out the string and treats for willow then hehe. When I have had cats that have been unsettled and wouldn't come near me that was how I managed to get them settled and friendly. Just play with both of them with some string or something they have to chase and put out treats etc. Willow will come round its a big adjustment for her after all.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your cat SouthEastBlue, he looked stunning. :(

Has anyone grown cat nip? I've seen some seeds on Amazon. This to be exact
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CATMINT-cat...=UTF8&qid=1401617214&sr=8-11&keywords=cat+nip

Just wondering if it needs to be cultivated in a greenhouse with special soil, bonemarrow or something. If I let it grown naturally in the garden I don't want to attract every single cat from a half mile radius.

Sorry to hear about the loss of Meiko.
He was certainly a good looking specimen.
I too remember when the photo of him was first posted.

Anyone watch secret life of cats on ITV yesterday?

I learnt so much. Apparently cats release some chemical when you stroke them and can reduce your anxiety levels and heart rate, hence why people find it calming.

Also the watching blind cats lead normal lives was fascinating. The cat which acted like a guide cat to the blind dog and acted as his personal navigator was amazing.

Didn't realise it was on, I'll watch it on catchup ;)
