Some people are just disgusting

Sad to hear that the poor girl went to such a extreme measure to overcome her issue/s and it just horrible that people would record this and share this online.

Were the police not informed?

Bit of an overreaction from the OP.

The woman decided to kill herself in a very public way. You condone the people standing around filming it (what exactly could they have done to prevent it? This is real life not TV) but don't condone the woman herself for the effect it could've had on passers by who had to witness it?

Passers by could have decided not to stand, watch and film and could have walked on and dilled 999.

You can't judge the actions of a person who is suicidal by the same social standards, they are clearly not in of a sound body & mind.

Publicly filming it & goading her are both examples of a failure of human empathy, it's not difficult to imagine that from the perspective of the women that both these actions would be further stress & misery inducing.

If a group feels the need to chant something then why not 'Go back in, don't do it' - social pressure is an incredibly powerful thing & when used to harm it's an example of how flawed & ethically challenged many in society really are.

About the only part of that I can see happening is the 999 part but then everyone will probably just assume someone else has or someone more official (such as the car park security) would be doing so.

Curiosity is strong.

I can't believe the lack or respect some people have, I can't imagine how I would feel if that was a loved one of mine and people were plastering it all over their social media.

she showed a lack of respect for her life and plastered it all over the pavement?

It's deplorable to film the excesses of misery of another person for personal entertainment.

Lack of respect isn't really an appropriate term to use in this situation & frankly that kind of comment makes you sound like a bit of a ****.

It's just the extension of everybody looking as they drive past an accident on the motorway.
Looking as a person walks past is hardly comparable to stopping, getting out a camera phone & filming it.

I wonder if it was a relative of yours, how you would feel about videos of laughter & taunting followed by her body hitting the ground.

+1

If she knew she was being filmed and watched by a crowd I am sure she would have been even more humiliated and no chance in her thinking twice about whether to jump!

I don't think 'condone' means what you think it means.

If you ever had been in contact with someone who was suicidal you would have never asked a question like that. Hopefully you never will but remember she could have been in so many bad situations you would never expect and chose to do what she done to get away from it all!

Indeed. +1
