Finished the first one was a chore to finish and am now to chapter 4 on the second installment. Got the whole series so gotta play them

Overall, I quite liked it, though it went on too long for me. I enjoyed most of the second game more than the first, though that was based on only one play through for each title (I doubt I'll play them again). I've yet to get hold of DS3, which I'm in no hurry to do.

Why would you force yourself to play something boring?

Because I spent money on it lol, tbh I like to play games so I know the story and it is a addiction, when I have brought a game it does get at least the story finished, unless it is absolutely impossible.

Agree with this dude. Why waste hours on a game that you don't find fun/interesting?

You can read about the story on Wikipedia. I just saved you 8 hours, enjoy.

True but I haven't found out for myself! I don't know really but it bugs me to see a game in my library that I haven't finished, if it was really, really boring then I would stop but it isn't too bad but definitely not anything better than good along with repetitiveness.

Ahh, fair enough then. I actually enjoyed it, and am embarrassed to say it did scare the hell out of me. Loved how inventive the weapons were.

Anyway, enjoy. ;)

Enjoyed the first one personally, even if most of was being an errand boy being told what to do all the time :p I think after that gained popularity though it went downhill fast.

Wouldn't call it a great horror game but it's alright, would be nice to have more in the genre though (I'm discounting slenderman and such as they are not "games", although do well to freak you out :p).

The first one started off extremely well and introduced some great concepts (those cherubs...) but became repetitive and predictable quickly towards the mid-point in the game. I too am about to begin playing the sequel and I'm not looking forward to it because I fear it'll be more of the same thing.

Great games.

Only bad points are the sections with the regenerating monsters in all three of them.

Completely pointless and uninteresting to fight.

Other than that I enjoyed them all immensely.

I've just started playing all 3. I found the first the best, though not as scary, the 2nd scarier but not as fun, and i'm about 20% into the 3rd and not really enjoying it. Will keep going and see where it goes though, i hate having a series unfinished (Bits of it look amazing though, i've taken loads of screenshots - http://katinacooker.tumblr.com )

Never really got the hype either (not really played more than 15 minutes of the first one though) and didn't bother with them as I found the controls/movement in the first one horribly clunky and that just kills a game for me.

Played 2 or 3 hours of the first one, I don't really like horror games anymore and it was a bit boring combined with genre tropes I don't enjoy so canned it.

I seem to recall it came out during the period of EA experimentation, alongside Mirrors Edge.

As an aside, I was quite enjoying the new Thief game until they stuck a Shalebridge Cradle knockoff in the game randomly half way through the game. The only thing worse than incongruous horror levels is formulaic incongruous horror levels.

Played the first one for no more than 20 mins. Installed it, couldn't get used to the huge character model and third person view with keyboard and mouse, uninstalled it.
