Thanks for the review there whyscotty. This is what I have been seeing on all the benchmarks. As I have a 780ti, it'd be just easy for me to get another one next month. Or I could be sensible and hold out.. will see how I feel on pay day

Do 290s outperform Titan Blacks at 4k?
No probs
If I was buying now for 4K, this would be my choice - if they had blocks available

2 x Sapphire Radeon R9 290X Vapor-X OC 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **OcUK WorldWide Exclusive** £599.99 (£999.98)
Total : £1,209.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).
I'd like to see those 290X vapour x's up against the titan blacks at 4k, on X79 using a highly over clocked 6 core cpu. 2, 3 and 4 way setups. Highest details. I expect no review site can afford all those awesome gpu's though lol.
£1,200 for two 290Xs?
Surely 2 x 290X will run out of GPU grunt FAR before needing 8GB of VRAM.
Just accept Nvidia has won and buy a Titan Z =p
A whole lot of money and messing about to use 4K. Do you really believe it is worth it?
4K will eventually become viable for high end rigs/hardcore gamers but right now I think 4K for modern titles is right in the cutting 0.1% of extreme hardware configurations.

How sad that that card only has one DP output. If it had more I'd be very tempted.
that card will be out of date late next year !!!!!
Huh? They're 60hzAlmost bought a 4k monitor last month, what got me excited about it was the obvious IQ and the fact you don't need hardly (if any) AA on in games. It didn't even bother me about hearing the teething problems like font sizing, as like I said teething problems.
Its just that the graphics cards aint ready for them yet and we cant get a descent size 4k monitor yet that makes the point of having 4k without spending thousands. And they only run 30hz which aint so hot unless you only use your pc for browsing, work and watching movies.
Edit: Ignore my sig it need a title change lol
