Gameworks, Mantle and a pot calling a kettle black

Can't be bothered reading that after the first sentence. Most of my years on PC were spent playing competitive with just about the lowest of settings. Sof2 for 5 years and all cods up until cod 4 modern warfare. I am pretty competitive or used to be so graphics were not my thing. Gameplay is where it's at tbh and i feel you would rate graphics over gameplay. I have used cards such as the 9800pro, 1900xtx and the 8800gtx. Look at my spec now to see how much graphics matters. Most of my favourite games over the last 5 years have been on the lowly consoles.

I might defend amd now and then but tbh you are blind where Nvidia are concerned.

Don't get personal dude, the debate has been good so far. As for Graphics over game play, the games I have completed and enjoyed most recently have been Greenlight games, which have me hooked more than most of the AAA games, so again you are wrong. I love a visually stunning game (Crysis 3 fits the bill) but sadly, I have played it for less than 2 hours as I find it boring (personal taste). Give me a game like Bastion and I will keep playing it.

What was the last PC game you bought?

Last game i played on PC is Metro last light but that was at my mates. Last game i bought was SWTOR but that's pay monthly which i did or play for free. I have been playing games for that long though that i am finding it harder and harder to want to play. The consoles are offering up much better SP games so have been playing mainly on them.

As you are to Amd

In your opinion which is wrong. My experience leads me to my opinions but what's going on with Nvidia and games over the years is my common sense tbh not preference. It's a little like if people start dying in good health around the same person i would start looking towards him/her. If you don't then you are obviously blind to this kind of logic. It's not 100% effective but that's my way off thinking.

Well you are missing out big time and comparing consoles to PC's will not win you many supporters here :D There is so many gems and real cheap, I am also a console gamer but can't for the life of me see a reason to buy one of the new generations. They are technically so far behind a modern PC, they have aged too quickly before they have got started and the sooner game devs realise this, the better it will be for us PC gamers.

That is the console section :D

I can't believe that some users on this forum cannot grasp that both companies are as bad as each other with mud throwing and 1 up-man ship. GPU fanboys are worse than football fans!

You should check out Sony's e3 conference to see why you should buy one and if you don't get excited then you have not played the best of last gen. I am a gamer not a master race supporter or sony v microsoft. have you played watchdogs to see how far this gen are behind so far. Spec wise yes but in actual reality if you had played PS4 you would see how you are wrong. The last of us was only out last year on ps3 and apart from graphics it mullered most pc games. gta5 is still the best selling game for good reasons. play games not graphics.

My opinion is wrong but yours is right! yeah ok

As for common sense - you show none of it.

Devs come out and say Gameworks isn't affecting AMD, but you know better as your experience tells you otherwise.

So much hate for GW, I don't get it? Nvidia took flak (and rightly so) for locking PhysX to their own cards. They've turned that around now with GW by creating feature sets that work with AMD cards, admittedly the source code is locked down but I don't see an issue with that given all the effort they've put into it (and seem to be continually maintaining it too).

Disabling GW features doesn't give AMD cards that missing performance delta, so the idea behind that is a little flawed. Could GW run better on AMD? In my opinion absolutely. Would AMD actually want to optimise it to their ability though? It's competitor technology so maybe not - if they can create bad PR for nVidia that could help their image. Imagine if AMD could/did optimise GW titles to expected performance between cards, suddenly GW becomes something respectable - perhaps not something you want your competitor to have when they're in complete control of it (just like nvidia would never adopt Mantle).

Now let's imagine GW features did have an impact on AMD hardware and of course the features can be turned off. Would you rather have those features optional to you at a performance cost or locked out like PhysX where you can't even make that decision?

I can't remember me saying it was gameworks. I said it was suspicious and there is evidence to suggest Nvidia not gameworks are up to tricks. Gameworks is pretty new but articles have been written about Nvidia sabotage for years whether right or wrong. There's to many of them for me to right it off.

I said you are wrong about me and yes i should know i live in this body lol.

Common sense whatever not getting into that as i don't know you.

Get me some articles that are very frequent in the scale of things showing amd doing the same things and i will take note. If not then why should i feel the same way.

I couldn't agree more. I sit in my local with my mates and we argue black and blue which team is best (and I have to keep quoting history as I am a liverpool fan) but the bottom line is we have another pint and talk more football (and who we would do).

This guy in the OP summed it up for me totally and yet, even with me (I am a nVidia fanboy) saying that nVidia are as bad as AMD, people still feel the need to twist it back to nVidia gimp AMD, even though it has been said by nVidia/AMD/Devs that they haven't.

I honestly thought this thread would make people look and say "fair point" but I was massively outt on that lol.

I did give you the link to the consoles section didn't I? And I am being elitist when it comes to PC's Vs consoles and especially since the last game you bought was SWTOR. You have no experience of GameWorks or Mantle but have much to say on it and I must add, speculation and FUD.

Lol, I watched Sony's E3 conference and it was full of multi-plats and bad exclusives. Anyway, why are we even discussing this dirty console peasantness in the glorious GPU section? :)

SWTOR is a PC mmo so why especially. I don't need the link to the console section. It would seem i have played 2 gameworks games on ps4 that ran awesome ie Black Flag and Watchdogs. Do these even use gameworks on the console i don't know. If they don't that could be the reason why they run so good lol.
