GTA V

I seriously hope GTA 5 is better coded than GTA 4 was and will run a lot smoother. Hope there's a nice SLI profile waiting too haha.

I think the major bonus here is that the ps4 and xbox one both use x86 instruction sets? (I could be wrong but I'm sure they do!) so it should run as well, if not better than on those consoles.

Not sure on that but you're probably right there! Fingers crossed it runs just as well or better. Seriously looking forward to this release! Been playing GTA 4 for yonks now and modded it to an extent where its nowhere near the original game anymore lol.

I would rather have red dead redemption for pc than gta, gta4 was mediocre, story was naff, i couldn't stand playing as that dipstick bellic. John Marston ftw, ha!

Indeed. Also GTA4 on PC was a direct port from Xbox 360 (tri-core), so anyone with less than three CPU cores had a horrible time running it (even people with the dual core >3.0Ghz core 2 extreme processors). That is, until they patched it a few months later. I was able to go from running it at 1280x720 on low to 1920x1080 on high.

Am I the only one who thought gta5 wasn't that good? The missions was not that good, and far to easy.
The only good thing about gta5 was the map, the great thing going for this coming to pc is hopefully mod support.

You aren't alone. I replayed IV around 8-10 times overall, partly thanks to the superb expansions. I finished V on the PS3 and never went back to it.

The world was so detailed (yet devoid of hoomans), and the missions were ok. However you don't feel connected to the characters aside from Trevor. Franklin and Michael I found rather boring. Money itself was scarce throughout the entire game thanks to cheap mission payouts, which frustrated me a lot. I felt restricted throughout as I couldn't buy anything (weaps/armour) unless you 'save up' the stock market missions and take advantage of those. Something felt missing but I can't pinpoint what and I wasn't alone on that thought from gamer opinions at the time.

Overall it was a major accomplishment if you look at the bigger picture - R* excelled themselves. Even on the dated PS3 hardware the game looked and played smoothly bar some framerate drops during hectic moments. Load times were dire though during the initial game loading stages and in MP itself.

Are you having a laugh?

I couldn't finish my first mission on GTA 5 that involved recovering a car from a garage. I tried it about 6 times and kept dying so the Xbox was returned to my brother in a fit of rage.

It wasn't that hard, but yea, it's hardly easy. It's not hard though. It's just right, it's enjoyable. Not frustrating, not boring. It's good fun!

I can not wait!!!

I didn't find any of the missions on GTA V especially hard to be honest ?

If you're getting stuck on the first mission the problem is simply you can't use the controller, and need to spend more time on it. Not the game's fault really.

Play the same mission using an input method more familiar to you - Keyb / Mouse and you'll probably see the game in a different light.

Excellent! I'll be playing this with my 360 controller, might quick switch to keyboard and mouse for shooting though unless auto aim is decent. Can't remember what it was like on the console when I had it

Auto aim is easy and fun. It locks on, with a flick of the right a stick in the direction of the next target and it sticks to that target. Real easy, I have no time for precise shooting with a controller and there is no real need in GTA V for it either. So I too will be sticking with the controller and auto aim.
