£100k Garage: Is one car better than many?

Nissan GT-R - 75,000
Reason: This thing will pretty much nail anything out there speed wise, and for the price its cheap. One would assume it's also great for nipping to the shop in as well for the grocery run etc. So it's pretty practical too.

Caterham R500 - 25,000
Reason: I'd have this just to take out on sunny days and give it some stick. Oh, and to track it of course.

Best of two worlds. Thats me sorted then ! :D

(second hand models)

I'd have a few cars rather than just one £100k car, simply becuase I like to mix it up, and I need a different car for different uses.

£50k - Nissan GTR (dream car)
£30k - Audi A6 Avant 3.0TDI (for long hauls and general tootling about)
£15k - Fiesta ST Mk7 (first small car I've ever liked)

That leaves my £5k spare to get a little track project, or keep my Focus ST and mod it to track spec.

Imo, having many cars would be manic, and wouldn't make sense financially (Not that this thread is about using your head)

My Choice

Nissan GTR - Its a dream car for me, it can blitz big name super cars for over half the price of them, its also practical, it can be used as a family car, for me, its the perfect all rounder, but not something to be used as a daily, as the fuel economy is shocking and tyres if you're like me and would probably use launch control at every red light, and its something i wouldn't want to rack the miles up.

I'd like the idea of the new 640d Convertible as a Daily, I think it looks great, decent performance and great economy.

Those 2 would probably bring it up to around 100k

£100k List;

£5k - Mint Honda Accord Type-R for a Daily drive. Nothing much can match this for the value. 4 Doors, great chassis, goes well. Big boot, why not?

£10k - E46 M3 Convertible - Summer Drive. I'd love a convertible for my next car. I love the look of the E46 convertibles, they just look so smart.

£10k - Mercedes C55 AMG Estate. Everyone needs a family wagon. Rather this then the more expensive c63.

£28k - Mercedes CL63 AMG - Just a coupe barge that I like.

£30k - Skyline R34 GTR - My dream car, major soft spot for these. I've always wanted one.

Rest of the £17k I'd put away to maintain these cars.

a Ferrari enzo.

an enzo for 100k.

didnt read the OP did we :p

Scooby STi - got
Conti GT - got
70k - S1 FHC E-Type
30k - W221 S500 with AMG kit

Not far to go really:D

if you want to keep your current cars, you have to include their market value in the budget. imaginary internet money is a cruel mistress.

Mint Honda Accord Type-R

never saw that one coming

1 Supra and several for spares and repairs? :p:D

lol to be honest if I had £100K to spend on car/s and car/s only it would be the following:

- NSX Type R in Imola Orange (facelift) £60K

Dream car bar an LFA and a pure Japenses Sports car icon, looks beautiful even today. The real japanese Ferrari.

- My CRZ with some serious tuning - £15K

I love my CRZ and with the right mods it would be a lethal thing to throw around a track.

- Lexus IS-F £25K

Nice 5L V8 RWD family saloon for daily driving. A list like this has to have a V8 somewhere and the Lexus gives great luxury, power and noise!

whats with the fascination with supra's anyway? old, clapped out, dated heaps ;)

they need to re-design, and re-release a 2015 supra or something though for sure.

Audi b7 RS4 saloon :D why? because I've been looking for audis for ages and this would be the best :D love the b7 looks/styling and that v8 :D

an american muscle car, not so specific on this as don't know too much about them but too cliché to go for a dodge charger? (old school ones ;) )

with what's left it would go on running the cars and maybe get some nice campervan for LAN :D (though these are pretty damn expensive so doubt it :p )

I'd always want several cars over just one, one of the many reasons is i like track days so if i bend/break it i need to still be able to get around. Also the kind of car i want for fun will usually be terrible to use daily which just sucks the fun out of it or i'd have to make too much of a compromise and end up with a jack of all trades master of non.

My list for 100k would be:

Honda NSX - £35k
Loved these since forever and it's my ultimate dream car, give me that over any tat with a horse or a bull on the front!

Subaru Impreza STi - £8k
I'd keep mine and do some more mods as its the perfect car for the Welsh hills

Seat Exeo ST - £15k
Really like these and it'd be perfect day to day and will pull a trailer

K20 Lotus Elise - £20k
Love Elises & love the K20 nuff said.

Fiesta ST - £18k
I'd buy the wife one of these for her daily.

Anything left is for a trailer and mods/fuel/tyres/trackdays/nurburgring trips

My list:

Honda NSX-R - estimate 55k
My dream car and ultimate idea of a car, would only be for Sundays.

Honda Accord -1k
A 6th gen Accord as a daily driver, have not come across a car like this that ticks every box for me.

Honda CRX or Prelude - 2-4k
My favorite cars are 80's and 90's tat, so would have to have one of these in the garage.

DC2 Honda Integra Type R - 5k
To take to the tracks.

Honda S2000 - 8k
Need a fun drop top roadstar for summer B road blasting.

2006 Honda Legend - 8k
Need a nice luxury cruiser for those long motorway journeys.

Toyota Hi-Lux - 8k estimate
Something to go off-roading in and as general workhorse if ever needed.

MPV of some sort - 6k

Some sort of MPV to ship around extended family on outings, not fussed what it is.

Suzuki Swift Sport - 5k
A fun small nippy hot hatch for city driving.

I was kidding. I knew there would be an ATR in there from you :D

Oh lol. :p

£100k could get you a lot of decent second hand cars. I never ever saw the point of buying new, unless I had the spare income to finance something I want. These days, I just don't see the point. There are a lot of great second hand buys out there, some major bargains to be had.

Throwing £100k at one car....I couldn't ever do that.

All these garages full of cars will be a pain to service, tax, insure, maintain and keep clean.

Do we get a butler?

C63AMG for daily and family (when it eventually happens) - £40k used
F Type V6S for weekend hoons - £50k
Clio 182 Trophy for trackdays - £5k, left over money for mods!

£6K - VW Polo 9N GT PD130
[Azurblau Metallic, revo map to 170, BBS reps, coilovers + ARB & links, colour matched exterior trim, smoked headlights, DRL's, 9N3 tail lights, 9N3 tailgate, debadge, white/black Polo Dune door cards & seats]

£5K - VW Golf 2.8 VR6 Highline
[Mulberry, Borbets, coilovers + ARB & links, Milltek non resi]

£9K - BMW E21 323i
[Burnt orange metallic, Braid Forged GT Lip rims, coilovers, smoothed front bumper]

£12K - BMW E92 335i M-Sport
£23K - '57 Chevrolet Bel Air 2dr HT
£45K - BMW E9 3.0CS

Would like an E30 325i, Bora GLI, R8 4.2 etc. as well, but sacrifices must be made.
Might get the E92 in cabrio form and make cuts elsewhere. *shrug*
:)

I have a bit of a German car obsession, I'm sorry...

Stop making me dream. :(
