880+880Ti to be cheaper than current gen ! :D

Cant everyone agree that AMD and Nvidia cards are close enough to the same performance for their price over the range for everyone to just shut up about it and pick whatever brand they prefer? (except in mantle games, obviously AMD will get higher framerates there)

No need as this is a Nvidia thread so why are the usual suspects causing trouble?

If this 800 series with small 256bit bus appears it is not meant to be the flagship card but still as fast as a 780i I will wait on the top card.

Because any Nvidia news is there to be ridiculed or laughed at and any AMD news is better than the light bulb invention. Plus, this is pretty much an AMD forum anyway.

An 880Ti sounds good to me.

I'm buying 1 but only if it has;

1. 6gb or more
2. Has 512bit bus
3. Comes in under £600

Agreed, 3GB has been the staple for a while now and even ATI's 2900XT had a 512bit bus yonks ago, Hope Nvidia do give us what you listed otherwise I'll just skip the 8xx series and wait for the 9xx series or see what AMD has.

Don't expect there to be a price drop but wouldn't be surprised if it's another midrange pretending to be high end thing like the 680.

Essentially what i am expecting. 'High end' cards released in the mid-range price bracket with the Top card coming in a little later at a much higher price and advertised as a specialist enthusiast card with a considerable performance bump over the 'high end' previously released.

I will definitely wait for the next flagship now. I'm willing to suffer a bit longer for the next big thing. I was going to go with a dual 780ti setup but it's so expensive with maxwell on the way. I just wish they'd hurry up and get it out there. Kepler is getting so long in the tooth.

I wouldn't be surprised either lets just hope this doesn't happen again. Proper specs and power or else I will be skipping this generation or looking else where.
