I'm not sure. She asked to go North, and they refused to take her and said they were heading to Braavos, then she showed the coin and they agreed, so I'm not sure if they're dropping her off there on the way.

Don't really see what use she'd be in Braavos, there's nothing for her there except maybe reuniting with Jaqen Hagar.

Think she got offered the chance to train to become an assassin when she got the coin.

The children of the forest were the first people in what is now known as Westeros. The First Men came to Westeros and warred with them, cutting down their trees and so on. The children flooded the neck, turned trees into warriors (like Ents I suppose) but ultimately were losing the war to the bigger, stronger, better equipped men.

Eventually they agreed to a pact where the men took the open lands and the children took the forests. The First Men took on the gods of the children, now called the Old Gods. The Gods of the North.

Then the Andals came, ruined the lot of it, and introduced the Seven Gods (Mother, Stranger, Maiden, Crone, etc).

I knew that form a wikki I read but without it I would have been a bit wtf is this.

Arya is obviously going on an early gap yah to Braavos. She thinks she will train as an assassin but will probably just end working in bars and return to Westeros with a a slight aussie twang.

Wasn't it the box he had that guy (his old master?) shipped to him in? Explaining his past and how he was abused etc, then it shows you he now has the one responsible in a box.

something like that. Can't remember the story exactly.

May be nothing, but can't help think something sinister is going to happen to tyrion. Choosing that box unnerves me.

From memory, yes, you can read on without any real spoilers (some of the series in in book 4 now). HOWEVER, I'd suggest you do not read the epilogue if you're worried about spoilers.

That has already been sort of spoiled a few posts above, won't point it out for obvious reasons, seems to have gone unnoticed.

:D

She'll wind up with a nasty case of clap if she's not careful!

Wasn't too impressed with the episode, way too much left hanging considering how long we'll need to wait for the next series. Enjoyed Aya and Jon Sneurgh's stories though and especially Tyrion doing this:

Don't think it's already been posted but most of you should enjoy this:

A friend of mine who's read the books told me today about how the Tywin/Tyrion/Jaime thing goes in the books and I'm glad they left a part of it out.

I hope Arya goes and becomes an assassin as I'd love to see that. The same mate who told me about the threesome situation above also said the last books had been crap so I think they'll diverge now and go their own way. He said the last book was mostly about 1 of the POV chars and just wasn't very good until the end (he doesn't tell me the end of that book on pain of death).

Not that I noticed, but I think they aired the last ep at same time as US (Like they did the first) so likely locked till it aired the second time on the night to save spoilers?

It was locked a week or so back due to all the bickering mainly about what was a spoiler and what was not. It was reopened when Episode 9 was aired and stayed open since.

I take it that your friend has trouble with numbers, as there at at least five main POV characters in book 5, and as many different ones in book 4. I'm sure someone who can be bothered to look it up can give me the full numbers.

As for "crap" the problem is that books four and five were written to fill in a planned gap in the timeline. Martin knew where he wanted what is now book six to start, but suddenly had to get there. It's best to think of them as the first two in new series. Book three was always intended as a major end-point, and no book could follow that standard. As a heretic, I actually like book four the most, but only after re-reading the whole series.

To those asking why Ayra didn't go be buddies with Sansa again: She didn't know Sansa was there, nobody does except littlefinger and those old Lords/Lady people that interviewed her.

Same here. In fact, it was you saying that a year or two back that got me to re-evaluate it iirc. It has some poor moments, and for me there isn't enough action, but is overall the best written of the series imo.

I tried the Feast/Dance mash-up by following someone's chapter order and it was quite interesting as well.

edit- NOT 'same here' meaning as a heretic:p...I share some views, but disagree with most.
