It is slim lol. No mention or even rumours of a slim being planned yet. If they do a slim model I'd say it will be a couple years off at least.

Yeah, original SKU PS3 came out in 06 here and the first slim was summer 09 iirc

There were 3 years between the Fat PS3 (end 2006) and the first Slim model (Sept 2009) so assume a similar time frame for a "slim" PS4.

TBH it will be interesting to see what design approach they would take with a slim PS4 as the current model is already a tightly packed and very well integrated design.

It gets hot enough in the box its in. If anything I would like one a bit bigger so they can use a bigger heat sink and quieten it down a bit.

Looking at picking up a PS4 on payday, are games downloaded via the PSN store compatible with the PS4 or is there no backwards compat at all?

Last gen games on PS4 are likely to be sold through their 'Playstation Now' service, which will be an additional monthly cost from what I understand.

I think you can use your phone or vita companion app. Not sure if it's much good though.
