The Division Downgraded On PC

Dear oh dear.... no more Ubi games for me, i'm not supporting a developer who takes your money and rips you off with half a product because your not on their favoured platform (Consoles)

What surprises me most is how many people say no more money from me. Ubi have never supported pc properly and never will and people have paid for their games for years. Consoles have always been their priority

I boycott them after fc3 not bought a single ubisoft game. - the ps4 console that came with watch dogs.

Boycotts don't do anything in the gaming world, except give free publicity and record sales. :(

It's sad that we have no recourse against the handful of massive merger corps that control games these days. Meanwhile they bend over backwards for a few nutcases on tumblr that want gay romance options in every game.

bad time to be an aspiring game dev :/ guh

ubisoft have always been bad with pratices in the past though.

Something about using shaun white for snowboarding game, and the contract was 3 games but they could use his name after and not have to pay him etc?

Spare a thought for Nvidia and GameWorks, they just partnered with a game developer that does not care about pc gamers.

This is why Ubisoft should never have been chosen, while GW libraries make it easier for talented/passionate developers to create something epic they also make it easier for hacks to troll out garbage at double speed.

Things like this should be limited to time proven quality concious developers who will make something that can highlight all the good aspects of the program, not the Uwe Boll of video games.

Honestly what a load of nonsense. I have a gaming PC with crossfire 290x's etc and a PS4. I still like to play games on my console. I know it looks better on my PC but I don't care.

This PC elitist attitude really annoys me. I also think this story is just someone jumping on the watchdogs bandwagon, they are going on about PC being lead platform...I'm wondering how that is the case seeing as it took a petition from PC gamers to get the game developed for PC.

Ok please throw your PC out of your window and stick to your console... Nobody wants PC to trump consoles (although they do) they want a level of fairness. Why even come here and say what you said...You clearly did not read the post...PC gamers are being shafted!

If you had a ferrari and I had a Mini, would you like to be told that you must have a limiter installed so your 0-60 matches my 0-60 time so that I don't feel inferior? or so that you don't get to pull off form the lights 3 X faster than me.

This is what is happening to PC's, The games are being willfully downgraded so that consoles don't look like the 6 year old tech they are.

Nothing to do with being an elitist..Going back to my example, how would you feel? You would not like it, you would be angered.

The problem here is, a handful of people saying they wont buy Ubisoft games any more, are not making the smallest of difference to Ubisoft.

In fact the loser is the buyer, as they are denying themselves the game (if it's any good).

Ubisoft, dont not care if 0.00005% of people that would have bought their game dont.

What needs to happen is someone needs to start a petition, a high profile petition something that will get many signatures and has the potential to reach the ears of Ubisoft.

A court case needs to be brought against them really. Becuase us PC gamers are BUYING a product that is in no fit state ready for the market.

Yea that make sense. People won't see other boycotting, but a high profile petition could do much more and the developers would have a PR to maintain openly, force them into the open to address the issues rather than hiding in their holes covering their ears and eyes.

They'll see it if a significant number of sales are lost but thankfully not many people arbitrarily boycott a games publisher. I'm pretty measured when it comes down to things like this and if all else fails I'll just get it on the PS4 like I did for Watch Dogs.

I don't really want to miss playing a good game for the sake of some ideological crusade :p.

Edit: 'good game' being subjective and something I want to play ;)

For all the people with this campaign mentality they should really look at boycotting DICE too. Not only for the mess that BF4 was when released but also for the fact they said they would never charge for DLC. Of course I'm being facetious... but the point I'm making is that you can find reasons to boycott almost anything so don't look too far into it.

They might just think, lower sales on the PC, is evidence that pc gaming is on the decline.

Also how do you coordinate people not buying a game?

If the whole forum 'says' yea lets boycott the next Ubisoft game, but then I am the only one that doesn’t buy it, we haven’t managed to gain anything.

Where as a petition that gains many signatures, will show Ubisoft that us PC gamers care for our games, feel cheated and hurt, and also shows them that PC gaming is still alive and there is a market here.

I don't mean just this forum but across their whole market. If people feel that way here they will feel that way elsewhere. If the game flops and their market analysis shows that to be the reason then that will be heard.

The chances of there being enough loss of sales due to this though is miniscule because as I say, most people are sensible enough to judge each game on its merits.

I'm pretty much going to avoid The Division, after the car crash that was Colonial Marines I'll just feel disappointed playing something which I know should have looked better.

I don't really care about those that say "cutting off your nose to spite..." or "you know the games aren't just about graphics right?", I just don't want to give my money to Ubisoft.

I hate their platform, I hate the mechanics within the game where you have to discover an outpost to unlock a map which seems to be repeated in all their games recently and quite frankly I didn't even enjoy the last game I bought from them (Far Cry 3 on sale) that much. I got bored way before I finished the main story line.
Anyway I can safely say Ubisoft don't care if I buy their games or not but I don't really care what they think and to me their games just aren't worth considering right now.

You're only cutting off your nose to spite your face if you will potentially really enjoy one of their games. If you won't then there's obviously no issue. Although I would question why you would buy a game without reading about its mechanics first :p.

This. If anyone remembers they said they would not release a game a few years ago because....and I quote....it will be pirated by 95% of Pc gamers and we can prove that. By us not buying the games they will probs just think Oh those pirates again. Side note ,they released that game anyways about a year later

Exactly or put it down to piracy.
