*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Bought a PS4 last night with Watch Dogs and UFC. Really enjoying it so far but i've been having a lot of trouble getting it to getting to my router.

Anybody had similar problems, or know how to fix this? Everything else I have connects to my router, phone, tablet etc no problem.

In fairness the One allows me to stream content from my phone and pc through avia/skifta e.t.c over dlna. Sony need to address the issue.. I agree that next gen isn't even last gen in several different areas, that goes for both consoles.

Didn't know that, i only mainly use my Ps4 for games, but seems can't even do that tonight - PSN is having issues again.

What router have you got?
 
No its been down since around 8:30 and in the past few months this isn't the first time. it's getting quite regular at the moment.. problem is, the ps4 is quite a connected online console. so when it's offline it's quite noticeable as the ps4 dash just bogs down as it can't connect. I pull the network lead out if I do want to game when psn is down....

but I don't think live users have quite the same problems... if Sony want to keep this nice ps4 lead they've managed to get they'd better sort psn out, as its got issues ...

No it won't however with PSN issues, lack of DNLA, MP3 playback, 3D blueray support all things that the Xbox One can do after a fashion, it could easily scrub the lead they have.

One thing I said about the new gen, is MS is all about a connected gaming media hub and the PS4 is just going to be a games console.

I also think Sony are dragging the heels on the whole DNLA thing as they do not want their subscription services for audio and video impacted

Fine, ps4 can be a games console, but it needs to be a comeected games console.. Destiny is a game that'd suffer badly if psn keeps this current trend...

anyhow rant over, it seems to be back..

I think I've had more down times with PSN on my PS4 in the 7 months I had it than the whole 7+ years I used XBL with my 360. Considering you have to pay for PSN to game now it's something Sony REALLY need to sort out.

No, not really. The Xbox One is in largely the same position as far as 'missing' functionality is concerned. Both sides are clearly more committed to developing the features they've advertised and announced than bringing back functionality that was lost. Whether it comes at a later date or not is anyone's guess at this stage, but ultimately the vast majority just want to play games.

Same psn is always down at the moment.

I really want them to sort the 3d as it's my bluray player and it's been 8 months :(
 
about resogun, we got it free with ps+, but why on earth can't we "buy" it for keeps?
also season pass 6,49 quid....american 7,99$....for crying out loud.....

They've had this problem since day one of ps plus, it's rather annoying but it's in their best interest to keep it as it is so people stay subscribed
 
Got myself a PS4 yesterday. How exactly does the free games with PS plus work? how do I download them? is it just the "free games" from the store?
