I had a SVD which I used in 18350 for out and about(carrying spare batteries for long times out) It died pretty fast. The micro switch in it is broke and it ain't easy to get apart to fix it. I started playing with mechs because I'd kill a VW mod about once a year. I now know the SVD often has this problem so wouldn't buy another. Shame because it is really nicely built otherwise and their other products all get great reviews. They might have fixed it in later versions but it is hard to know which one you are buying.

Gents,

How is this kit?

http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/Deluxe-.../Vape-Escape-1100-Deluxe-Kit.Html?cPath=18_81

Thinking about getting one for mother, and don't know whether to get her the 650 kit suggested a few pages back or this one!

Thanks :)

Looks like a fairly good starter kit imo I've not bought ego style like this for a long time so can't say if it is the best out there but it will work fine for her. I'd buy a bit more extra juice to go with it. Mostly small sizes (costs more but she needs to find one she likes) I'm amazed how cheap these kits are now, used to be almost double that for not even as good a kit only 3-4 years ago.

Indeed, prices have come down quite a bit!

I was tempted by this one for myself - its a lot cheaper here than at vape escape

Worth the money or not really over the protank kit?

Just got some efest 3100mah batteries. Is there anything I should know about using them? I have a chi you clone and a vamo. I have always used 2000mah batteries in the past. Thought the 3100mah might last longer.

Are they decent brand 3100mah batteries? If not they may not reach anywhere near that capacity? I believe a certain Panasonic cell achieves high ratings?

Not used the protank myself. But I do have the Vamo V5 and it is a great bit of kit, well worth the money IMO. Using it with a Aspire Nautilus, awesome vape.

Depends on the tank you choose. The charger and batteries are ok. :)

IMO, go for one of the Protanks or the Nautilus. Just check the price of the replacement heads and make sure you happy first. :)

Efest Purples? They're good.

Out of the one from myepack, and the one from vapeescape, which would you choose mate? Vape escape one appeals for the fact it has two batteries. Could always get a protank to go with it?

I have 2 Vamos. 1st one was a V4 that I got a year ago, and was my first mod. 2nd one, a V5, arrived yesterday. Cracking bits of kit.

The V5 I got from here : http://focalecig.com/Product/Vamo-V5Variable-Voltage-Wattage-ModSilver-18769

Got it in a group buy though, So was only £12.50 delivered. Bargain. Took 2 weeks to get here mind. Still a great bargain though. Current price puts it around £20 delivered though. Still worth it mind.

Or, you can put in an order with Fasttech (http://www.fasttech.com/)..

Get a Vamo V5 and Nitecore i4 charger and a protank 3. £41 delivered. Then see Torchy (on ukvapers) for a couple batteries, the Panasonic 3100 mAh will be around £14 from him...

At the end, you'll have the same mod, better charger, better batteries, better atomiser. Same price, and you might have to wait a couple weeks, but much better all round deal.

Ah, Vamo all the way, for a start it VV and VW. The CE4's on that VE are ****. You get what you pay for. :)

The only benefit of that one is the size.

If the CE4's are ****, could you just replace them with the Protank and have an ok setup?

I wouldn't know what to run the Vamo at voltage or wattage wise! Slight concern!
Personal preference to an extent. You will know if you turn it up too high. :D

Whack it in watts mode, start at around 5w and go up till it tastes good etc. if it tastes like ass turn it back down a bit. Thats the basics of it.

W is better than V (watch the vid a page or so back)

Some attys will be better at higher power, others not.

Of course, thats another pro for the Vamo, it will take pretty much any atty you throw at it and being VV/VW it will be able to give you a decent vape.

For example, You could start off with a Protank, then try a Kayfun or dripper etc, and still use the Vamo. That would not be possible with the kit from VE is only really good for the likes of the CE4's and Evods (which are better than the CE4's btw) because its not variable.

Minefield! I've had variable voltage batteries before. Set it at 3.7v and left it there!

Just seems like a lot of money to be shelling out to start up.... though my current supermarket smogger is costing £8 for 5 cartridges so I guess it won't take long to equalise the cost!
