Carvalho would be a good fit for Chelsea, playing alongside Matic. If he is going to Chelsea then it suggests they've given up on signing Pogba.

Are people asking for Origi on the strength of one or two games?

Being motivated and at your best for a relatively short tournament which happens to be the biggest thing in football with players familiar to you is different to new country, new league, new clubmates and being able to perform consistently on a Tuesday night in Hull.

That's my feeling as well. He certainly looks an interesting prospect through the World Cup, but Id never heard of him before that. However, if Rodgers wants him then I presume he's watched him for longer than just the WC.

I hadn't heard of him either, so just wondered if I'd missed something or if people just see him an exciting prospect as he's done well in the WC matches.

Liverpool have been tracking him all year so it's not down to his World Cup performances, just more people have noticed him now. We all know how buying players on cup performances can turn out? *cough* *cough* el had diouf *cough* *cough*

I've been impressed with Cuadrado, but I could see him struggling in the PL. Probably nothing in it anyway, Gazzetta are about as good as the Daily Star.

Replace Origi with any name at the world cup and the same applies.

Agreed - remember a certain Mr Diouf, who we signed after a world cup?!
