What's peoples view on the New Type R thats due out next year?

I went into a dealership on the weekend to ask for a rough guide on cost and they are thinking it's coming in two forms (maybe a mugen), at around £28-32k and then around £36k.

looking at the car I think it looks stunning and will come in at roughly 310bhp, but based on the cost are they slightly over pricing this?? I mean you can get a second hand GT-R for those prices and would eat the honda alive....
 
The GTR would also have no problem chewing a wallet ot bits either.

Not all about straight like speed!
 
Very true, I had the last type r before getting my bmw but it was so much better to drive and got loads more for the money.
 
The problem with the new hot hatches is the price. They are going into the price bracket of fast + sensible cars now.

That concept does look the dogs nuts though!

that wing looks a bit OTT.... especially with the lights all over it. also not too fond of the nose... seems too curved and stubby... at the same time :confused: but it's just my opinion :p

lol was doing the same thing! I'm on the terrible works PC and though it was taking ages to load until moving the mouse over it.

That's the best section of that shop.... Get some good deals!

So far it's been a resounding "what a fugly car". I will wait to see what it's like when they actually release it, at the moment the UK government have rejected the spoiler but Honda are fighting it.
 
I still aboslutely hate its looks - but then I hate the 9th Gen civic anyway, this is just one with lots of stick on tat. They might be able to redeem it slightly on the inside, where the base car has lots of naff black plastic parts that are just begging out for some slightly better trim

I will however have to pretend I want one to try and get Honda to give me a demo car for the weekend to try the engine - which has the potential to be brilliant.
 
From the front, it looks glorious, but as you start getting towards the back, it gets worse and worse. What the hell were they thinking with the spoiler/light cluster?!

EDIT: Also, 4 door? Why? :(
 
Clearly the best CTR was the EP3, and the main reason for me wanting the new one is missing my old one as the VTEC/engine was just class. Best hot hatch engine for me after test driving pretty much all of them.

I hope they get this right, the only other hatch that i would look at is the 275 megane, but i dont want to touch french crap. Otherwise looks like i'm sticking with my BMW.

Its not 4 door as far as I was told. Same with the last CTR, gorgeous from front back end fugly. Then again I can't see the back whilst i am driving :p
