New CTR

Can't remember if I posted on this before but I'm not a fan, in fact not a fan of the new model at all. To me for some reason past the passenger doors it's all looks wrong, not saying the front is fantastic but tolerable, the back no way.

You sure they were only £16.5k??? I got one that was about 16 months old CTR-GT for £13k, I thought they were around 20-25k new back then... Mine was a 58 plate till i traded for my BMW coupe.

FN2 on release in 2007 was £17.5k and £18.5k for a GT IIRC.

The new model is expensive but all hot hatches are around that mark these days. I like the look of the concept and glad they are giving it more power as the FN2 was behind its rivals in 2007, just hope the car can handle it as havig supercharged my FN2 it was not always easy to put that down in a country that gets a lot of rain.

aye, they should be holding their values well, the k24 Accords seem to be holding their value well too.

I don't think any of that matters, it is still a capable performance Honda, tuned by Mugen (with added brand and scene tax), and is an old school trademark Honda, they will be desirable machines to car enthusiasts, whereas the new vtec turbos will be much more appealing to the mainstream.

No the import long body civic with 220-240bhp would be sought after.

The Mugen will still command a premium over the non Mugen but it won't be as appreciable imo as the car base and platform was already surpassed by the jdm models.

its not like people will be thinking damn I wish I could have a uk spec fn2 over a mew xar. Even the more tired ep3 is regarded by many as better. The fn2 is just too middle of the road. . Imo.

Looks like list price was 18k ( or possibly 19 OTR ? ) , but previous owner did a good deal 16650 inc 5 years servicing and extended warranty.

Thought i had the original invoice, but have this on the brochure.

Seems like a absolute steal compared to current prices :) Even for an FN2 :)

I had the original receipt for my EP3 Type R 2004 54 plate and that was bang on 16k.

Such cars have gone up massively, granted they were sparse inside but still :(

They have started the billboard campaign, saw one on a local red, with the image of the rear and something along the lines of "red is back".

Just shocked at how much cars are new these days.... I really would like this if its made well, the engine performs and the interior is nice but the price!!!

I even went looking at some cars for the mrs, and even a crappy french clio is around £15k WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way would I pay new car prices. I bet 70% of them are finance if not more.

You are probably right mate, the issue is when people don't have a deposit its sometimes the best way to get a cheap monthly payment. Yes you have a lump sum at the end but you just part ex and start again.

Just hope they are not stupid with the price and what i was told is incorrect. Potential to pay £36k for a Mugen CTR 2015 is crazy money.

New cars are as cheap (or expensive depending on which way you look at it :D) as they have ever been are they not?

For example (i dont know where else to check for values) a 1998 Clio 1.6 has a P11D new value of £10,075.

Inflation adjusted that is £15,481 now. And the 2014 Clio is miles better than the 1998 one was :)

Yeah but inflation cause suck my b@lls!!! Wages are not that much higher which is the issue. Never mind, just hope this is honda back to its best! I could never touch things like the VXR or Focus ST/RS... rank cars and rubbish drive!

Well the bank of England and the office of national statistics says that they are, thats inherently what inflation is :p

Im just pointing out that cars about the same price if not cheaper than they always have been, as opposed to going up in price :)

I'm assuming it looks like a CTR. Unfortunately I don't have the patience to find out what it really looks like, since that is quite possibly the most obnoxious website I've ever seen...
