So we all know movie reboots suck right. They take a movie from the 80’s that you love and rip out all the stuff that made it great in the first place and replace it with ‘No Swearing’, ‘No Nudity’ and ‘No Violence’ to make the most bland, uninteresting and snooze worthy 2 hours to appeal to the widest audience possible. Artistic integrity be damned.
Problem is there are some films I would actually like to see get a reboot because I liked there premise, even if the film ultimately failed.
One movie I would like to get a reboot is ‘The Island’ from 2005, you know, that terrible Michael Bay movie. Reason for this is I loved the first 40 minutes of this movie so much, when it’s all set underground and they think they are survivors of some catastrophe. They are being picked by lottery to go to this safe paradise called the Island, of course that’s a lie but I will not spoil it for anyone how hasn't seen the movie.
Safe to say with a better director and smaller, more personal ending (no Bayhem!!) this movie could have been brilliant.
So are there any movies to would like to see be remade or do you think that it is a big no-no?
