Upcoming games to support Mantle

GTA4 was a direct port from the ps3 version. It ran on just two cores and hated multi gpu

Gta5 will run on the more updated rage engine, games like max payne 3 used it and ran great. You then have next gen using same x86 so development should work more easily.
Crossfire will work and your i7 will get used. So it will in theory work much better.

Watchdogs. Performance isn't guaranteed.
Think you have a valid point with the rage engine though.

EA are a huge company and I'm glad that AMD have them as a partner because they publish a lot of games. Probably the biggest publisher out there.

They also happen to publish a lot of guff. Who's responsible though? The game developer or the publisher for pushing deadlines etc?

Difficult one. I lean more towards EA.

I think we also need to remember that the new consoles will have an effect on this. Because of the new consoles are basically pc's, with AMD hardware in them, i think we will see a proper GTA this time.

UBISOFT!! Avoid like plague.

Like it matters? Is this new thread hurting you? Is it wasting space on your server? You don't need to enter this thread, we didn't force you.

Just continue your way onto some nvidia news?

It makes it easier so that the forum is not clogged up with basically the same thread titles with the only difference being games, this is the GPU section, not the PC Games section which is what these threads basically are.

Your response was not unexpected though, as you have already segregated 'yourselves' from 'us' by using 'we' as in AMD users. You are creating a divide.

I'm a fan of Nvidia yes, but I enjoy all GPU news and for your own reference, I'll read whatever thread I like when I like.

...this is just a list compiled by videocardz of upcoming games. Mantle support is pure speculation?

Nope, looks like a leak from someone in the Mantle Beta program. All those devs are in the program, but not all of them have officially confirmed Mantle support. Some are trying it out or investigating it. My money is on most of these using Mantle support and all of them being Gaming Evolved titles.

To be fair to VideoCardz, they've been spot on about Mantle titles so far on the whole. They called the recently announced titles months ago before AMD said anything.

Ubisoft don't like pc gaming though haha I have couple there games that run like crap. Splinter cell, ghost recon

Rockstar are not ubisoft. GTA4 came out at a very bad timing, just when pc gaming was going quad core, dual channel and multi gpu gaming.
Gta4 didn't like extra cores, force it on two cores and you see performance much better.
The engine at the time wasn't ready for the change.

Mantle support in The Sims 4 is MASSIVE! My other half will be delighted, even though she doesn't really understand what Mantle is. I will have to school her in the fine arts of the newest API. :D[/url]

So you fancy being single again eh? Well at least you'll get more time to play these Mantle games :D

It is a shame that some games will not necessarily have Mantle support at release, a la Sniper Elite 3, which seems stupid as most games have no replay value for me and once I've completed Sniper Elite 3 I doubt I'll replay even when it's patched with Mantle support.

Hehe. I've got her playing Plants Vs Zombies using Mantle on a lowly HD7770 1gb and she loves it, as she should.

I hear you on that. Unfortunately we're still at the stage where a lot of the current Mantle games had support for it tacked on. Hopefully in future titles it will be ready at launch as the games will have been created with an eye on Mantle support rather than adding it after the main game has been finished. Definitely an area for improvement.

Yeah I do agree, hopefully this improves as time go on. I think this more to do with Mantle getting added to the game development late on.
I would be surprised if games next year didn't ship with it.

GTA V was poo IMHO, too much focus on main storyline and not enough side stuff. No car hunting/collecting, too hard to get money, business owning was very limited, world was too small, the heist system failed to materialise as well, it was only setup for storyline missions.

If they can fix the lack of postgame messabout content and have Mantle, I would grab it. I think Mantle would be a dealbreaker as IV was CPU limited in a big way IIRC.
