Was Stopped by the police...

Moral of the story is.
always check your rear view mirror for 3 police bikes before putting your foot down

+1

I would always check around and about before doing so. Not that I do. Or have. Ever. Honest guvna.

I've got away with so much crap when driving (because of cameras in areas I don't know like the back of my hand - which thankfully weren't active) that I'm scared to do anything out of line in case my luck runs out.

Overtook 4 cars in a 50mph zone around a corner on the bike doing 75+ (It must have looked epic) and one of them happened to be a silver Mondeo with lights on top (looked like a roof rack).

On come the lights, we pull over a little way down the road and he asks me how old I am, where I'm going, "Can you afford to lose your licence?" talk, then simply said to slow it down and be careful.

I still maintain I did it safely, just not quite within the law :D

Shook me up good. In this country I don't want to get pulled over, the cops have guns and no one messes with a state trooper!

I was once absent-mindedly driving up a long straight road near my house at around 35-40mph when a rozzer appeared up ahead pointing his speed gun thingy at me.

I anchored up as soon as I saw him but he proceeded to smile and hold 3 fingers up at me as I passed him and for the next few weeks I was ******* myself every time the post landed fearing I'd got 3 points.

Turns out he was a nice copper and he was simply indicating to me that I should be doing 30mph!!! :D

I have once, just finished a 19hour shift, was on call and up at 4am for an emergency recovery job from the police.

Pull up, spoke to the officer had a laugh and he went home to bed I finished off the recovery and spent the day at work.

Was driving home that evening, saw a clear stretch of road and put my foot down, much have been doing 65 or so in a 50. Went past a police car and thought "oh dear" he pulled a U-turn, caught up with me and pulled me.

Low and behold it was the same officer from the 4am job, he asked me what I was doing and said that I wanted to get home as I was shattered and he then asked if I had been to bed yet, to which I said no I worked all day.

Think he felt sorry for me and he has been in bed through the day, gave me a telling off and said "for someone who picks up cars that have crashed like this morning, you of all people should know better"

He let me go but preceeded to follow me the 10miles almost to my door step. Not sure if this was out of concern because I was dog tired or to make sure I got his point.

Either way he was a gent and was well within his rights to ticket me, and if he did I don't think I would have contested it, I was over the speed limit and bang to rights.

Sometimes a ticking off is the better way to deal with the situation.

No. Just no.

Please start riding sensibly before you end up as a pile of mush under a lorry that you didn't see.

2nd day of having my VXR I got pulled 3 times in 1 run for no insurance (had insurance, just took a while to update on to the database). Every single time I **** my self as I knew I had 2 illegal tyres on the car with 3 new tyres on the back seat.

When I say illegal, I mean I would have got locked up if they seen the state of them. /clever pants

I've yet to meet a jobsworth cop over here, I guess they have better things to worry about. Long time ago I was trying to get to KFC, 15 minute journey 10 minutes before they closed and some oik was doing 30 on a national speed limit road. I overtook him and he decided to put his foot down and catch up, I looked down at the speedo and I was doing 80 (in a 60) but it was late and I assumed they were just boy racers or something ... until his blue lights came on :/

He checked the car over and asked me why I was going so fast, I told him the truth and he said "Ok, be careful as these roads are slippery) and off he went!

I only did it because it was on my route to work and the corner is open, you could see the next couple of corners
In that case I might let you off ;) I had something like a sweeping, half blind left hander with trees down either side in my mind.
I can think of loads of corners where you can see ahead beyond the corner pefectly clear...

You don't drive much around the country do you?

I do, I'm just not used to the idea of overtaking on an open corner, because I can't do it anywhere other than on a straight and flat bit of road which extends off into the distant horizon. (see sig :p)

I always found a rollocking was better than a fine.

I had one pull along side whilst doing over 80 and just waved for me to slow down, Which I did for the rest of the journey.

The Last Time. :D

4T5 Jumps Red lights going through town about 2am'ish.

Rozzers pull out straight behind me & pull me over.

Rozzer = What gives you the right to jump Red lights then ?

4T5 = Sorry mate I was just taking the ****. :o

Rozzer = Mmmm Well don't do it again then !!!

4T5 = :eek: Nice one mate. :D
