Was Stopped by the police...

I used to drive between Aberdeen and Southampton on a 2 weeks on and one week off basis. I left Aberdeen at 0300 and I was driving my 3L capri on the M6 at Shap. Nicely doing 100mph plus and was stopped and given a warning. 20 miles later and my speed had crept back up (I was aiming to get home before midday). Same policeman, same procedure but this time a lot sterner and a final warning to keep my speed sensible, (he did not say legal).

Needless to say, it was about Cheshire before I went over 80mph again (this was 1980).
 
Never been stopped for speeding, I've had a camera flash at me on the motorway but never heard anything from it, no letters in the post or anything. I've been stopped a few times when I was younger, driving home from work at silly o clock but never had any other run-ins with the police. I can't understand the people that hate on traffic cops, yes I'm sure there are some bad apples but you get that in any line of work. For the most part I think the police do a difficult job very well.
 
A couple of weeks ago my Grandad (82) got caught doing 90 on a dual carriageway without his seatbelt on. All he got was a telling off!
