Was Stopped by the police...

I like that one... :D ^

The only contact I've had with the police while I was in my car was in rather unfortunate circumstances. I detailed it in the late TIAM thread.

Anyway they just told us to get dressed and leave please. :p

... Fine, here is a condensed version, you can decide what we were doing for yourself.

- Me: "****, a car is coming"
- Me: "****, it's stopped!"
- Me: "****, they're getting out!"
- Me: "****, its the Police!"
- Us:
- Us: *attempts to hide under stuff*
- Police: *Shines torch through window*
- Me: "No, dont do that!"
- Police: *knock knock* Police: "Open up!"
- Us: "Errrrrrr..."
- Police: "Open up or I'll put the window in!"
- Me: "Errrrrrr... Hang on a second!"
- Us: *tries to get dressed*
- Police: *Tap the window with window breaker*
- Me: *hides modesty with some trousers and rolls the window down an inch or so*
- Her: *hides under blanket*
- Police: "Right what are you doing out here?"
- Me: "Errrrr..."
- Police: "I'll tell you what you're doing, you're getting dressed, and leaving"
- Me: "Yes, yes we are... Thanks..."
- Police *get back in car and drive off*

Bike, in all likeliness no VASCAR, or if it had was not used.

Non corroborated evidence of speeding = case is going nowhere unless it's a blatant Due Care/Dangerous/otherwise.

There was no paperwork to do because the job is a non starter. However, puling you and issuing Words of Advice is the proper thing to do, and you know you were a numpty.

my dad got chased by an unmarked Octavia when on his bike. when they pulled him over the accused him of doing 125 but that due to the under-funding of our local police he was driving alone and did not feel safe at those speeds to initiate the recording

madness. my dad could have killed like 100 children at those speeds

This is total BS.

Really surprised I've never been pulled to be honest. One time though a cop car pulled a U turn after going past me driving probably slightly too fast at 3am and followed me for about 2 miles until I got to my front door - didn't say anything to me though, just stopped at the end of the street until I'd gone inside then drove away. Probably realised I wasn't a chav so didn't bother. :p

I got pulled for doing some rather silly speed down the Meadowhall viaduct (Bridge under the M1) a few months back, completely clear road then all of a sudden as I'm slowing I see a bike in my rear view mirror. I thought I was ****ed and was reminiscent of Simon's "I'm sorry I'm sorry" scene from Inbetweeners :D Copper told me to slow down or it'd be worse next time...fair enough because it's easy to make progress on a road and get carried away especially if you have a reasonably quick car and I won't be doing that any more :p

2nd day of having my VXR I got pulled 3 times in 1 run for no insurance (had insurance, just took a while to update on to the database). Every single time I **** my self as I knew I had 2 illegal tyres on the car with 3 new tyres on the back seat.

When I say illegal, I mean I would have got locked up if they seen the state of them. /clever pants

How did the tyres deteriorate so quickly?

There are these magical things we call "used" or "pre-owned" cars. :p

Was probably bought with illegal or borderline illegal tyres. Or maybe he purchased some used alloys which had tyres pre-fitted - two of which were illegal. Etc etc.

The point being I doubt he ruined some new tyres inside of 2 days. :p

I've never been pulled in 10 years of driving. I've been checked out before however when I was in my Monaro. Llate at night I was following an unmarked Skodá, it pulled in to a layby and then pulled straight back out as I went past.

I don't know whats worse.....

Buying a car with worn out tyres or buying a used car.... Who knows what unspeakable things took place in the back seats.

Yeah, 2 tyres was illegal, 1 was borderline and 1 was brand new when i bought it.

Bought car, ordered 3 new tyres the same day, tyres was delivered the next day. Chucked tyres in the car and went to work. Then straight from work i went to my mates garage to have them fitted.

If police had checked them i would have 100% got 6 points and a hefty fine as they was disgusting lol.

If you had explained they may have let you off and possibly just escorted you to the garage. You had the tyres on the back seat after all, and I'm sure it wouldn't take them too long to find out when you bought the car.

Though people shouldn't be selling cars with illegal tyres...

Don't worry, I bought a waterproof cover for the back seat. Yknow, so I could chuck my raincoat on it after diving in the car during a tropical rainstorm. (No... Seriously. :p)

Although I am the 7th or 8th owner (I know, its ridiculous!) so god knows what is in the seats.

No chance.

2 illegals and a borderline - processed for sure. Having NEW ONES on the back seat, knowing FULL WELL they are needed and STILL driving is worse than sheer ignorance to the fact as far as I am concerned.

"I didn't realise they were illegal, I just knew they needed replacing. Honest officer, I only bought the car yesterday, and the new tyres are right here!"

The day I got my 850 T5, I decided to go for a late night drive with some friends to "asses the performance". I was at some lights going onto a motorway sliproad which was completely clear ahead, so I decided to go for a 0-120 run. This went very well until I then glanced in my rear view mirror and noticed a bike behind me, which immediately lit up with blue lights. I moved to the inside lane and prepared to pull over, but he simply drew up alongside me and motioned for me to slow down, then sped off into the distance.

Think I got quite lucky there! I've been pulled several times since but never for anything like that, and remarkably I still have a clean licence.
