I get the feeling Vidal is a cut above him until Strootman reaches his true peak at 27 as well. I have watched United penny pinch since PSG sold Ronaldinho to Barcelona because we unsettled him and then penny pinched. The result? They sold him to Barcelona for £1m less than our pre-agreement because Peter Kenyon penny pinched.

The list of players like Ozil,Strootman,Fabregas,Kroos we missed out on is unreal. There is no such thing as a United player unless the player has a bad attitude. This crap of not paying the fee is what caused the huge backlog where we now have to buy all at one for over the odds.

Was Mata or Fellaini market value? Has anyone we bought been market value? And has anyone we sold been market value? 99% of the time i would say no so i have no idea what they are smoking at OT, But i want a puff because they just signed a shirt deal twice what RM get yet could they explain why our lineup is only half what Madrid have? The debts are about the same as well.

Evra Vidic Rio Anderson Bebe Zaha Hernandez Nani Young could move off the books and leave a huge gap. Note that Young is on 140k per week Vidic Rio and Evra were on around £15m a season combined.

Really United should be breaking the world transfer record not Real. It shows that the last time they cracked Europe lo and behold we had the best player on the books. In the grand scheme of things even though we got £80m we were robbed. I cannot help but wonder if his head could have been turned by someone giving him £300k a week back then.

He was going to get it eventually, The same with Messi and Neymar you just know when someone is worth gold. Barcelona know it you will not see them penny pinching over certain players. The sheer fact that they gave Neymar's family around £40m in the deal and Santos only £30m shows that they were willing to bend over for him. But i guess that would mean Neymar is not a "United player".

Looks like Demba Ba will be off to Turkey:

The president of Turkish outfit Besiktas claims his club is in talks with Chelsea over the possible transfer of Demba Ba. Fikret Orman has told NTV Spor:

The initial price for him was €13million (£10.3million) but we've managed to reduce it. We'll tell the media once the final deal is done.

Cracking transfer window so far for NUFC. What's with us getting all our signings in early? A sign of change?

Please we are now seeing sense and replacing players before they are inevitably sold. Janmaat is an ideal replacement for Debuchy, younger and cheaper too! Charnley and Carr combo are doing the business this year!

I'm fine if these players become international and champions league quality like Cabaye and move on. As long as they do a job for us whilst they are here and we make a healthy profit to allow us to reinvest.

Still need another CB and a striker and I'll be happy. I just hope none of these talents get "Pardewed" like the rest of the squad has been...

Their shirt sponsorship is increasing from 25mil to around 53mil next year, and they've also added a £20mil a year training sponsorship deal, meaning they can likely raise wages by basically 40mil above last year without breaking FFP, with another 30-40mil rise the next year should they want to.

Though in reality there are only a few players at Real with wages above 200k a week. Ozil wasn't on loads, neither is Khedira, Di Maria probably looking for a move because he wants a bigger deal. Real wages aren't insanely higher than Utd's, it's not like they are double. its around £180mil this year vs something like 200-220mil.

I doubt Utd have any serious ffp issues, with a cash balance that allows some pretty serious spending, and profitability outside of transfers meaning, hell, if they spent 250mil on transfers, that would be on the books as 50-60mil a year, which with sponsorship increases, I don't think they'd have any trouble covering either at most, pretty small losses, lower than enough allowable under ffp.

I'm not 100% sure when the rules kick in, in so far as, you can raise wages by 4mil + commercial increase from that year, or from the previous year? either way Chevy paid out 15mil or something last year anyway. they also had new airline sponsorship deal and plenty of other deals.

THats actually incorrect - accordig to Ronaldinho anyway.

He had given his word to the Barca president elect that if he won the election Ronaldinho would join (I read this during the world cup, although Im not sure how old the interview was)

In general though Man Utd have appeared to penny pinch in the past this is true.

Not sure Fab was ever a realistic option either last summer or this one for different reasons. We didnt really need an Ozil last summer so there was no point spending £40m given we had Rooney and Kagawa in that position already (provisionally anyway)

Mata was market value (given the transfer between two league sides and in general two top four competitors) without question. Fellaini is more debatable I grant you, but not exactly a massive amount of money (as majority of headlines will be the full price including add-ons etc etc, which Everton are highly unlikely ever to get if he gets sold on this summer).

Im sure the Chevy deal is more than enough to cover any additional wages Utd want to offer.....not to mention all the other sponsorship deals Utd are doing (seeminly) every week.

Probably due to not having a complete bumbling buffoon in charge of the transfer dealings and a sense that we don't have the luxury of bedding players in during the season. Whole sale team changes means we need them in quick.

I'm not against how we operate as such, but the lack of communication from skinny Mike is what frustrates me. If he would let us in on his overall plan then it would help. But the lack of investment after finishing 5th ****** me off.

Couple of more signings away from a very exciting first team.

Ashley's plan is to hope to fluke it into the top 4 for a couple of seasons in a row and work it from there... he'd be happy to sell the club at a massively inflated price and top 4 should do that. The problem is, it's highly unlikely to happen without spending another £100m - 2011/2012 was a brilliant season for them and they nearly squeezed in, but the chances of even that happening again are small - last season was the best chance with Man Utd and Spurs and perhaps even City and Chelsea being below par.

He's only spending the money the Cabaye sale raised, so if I were a Newcastle fan I wouldn't be seeing enough to be too optimistic yet - the team that finished the season were utterly woeful with little in the way of assets (Debucy and Krul being the obvious ones) and needed strengthening just to stay in the Premier League.

Sorry, you don't fluke a top 4 finish. League position NEVER lies.

Spending Cabaye money = equals how we operate, I don't get your point. I've just said I'm happy this is how we do things. Why can we not be optimistic specifically because of this point exactly?

Yep second half of the season we were dreadful...completely fueled by selling our best player. It's no coincidence.

I'm not optimistic. We'll **** it up somehow, I just operate as a pessimistic **** with all things Newcastle so the worst that happens is my expectations are net. Anything else means it's been a good year :p:D

Khedira to Arsenal? Seeing lots of rumours consistently stating it's almost done for £25m?
Anyone have better sources than twitter? :p

More reports coming out that we don't want to pay too much for Vidal due to worries about his knee. Hopefully he doesn't have a longterm injury there and we can get him for whatever price we need to pay (within reason).

Andy Mitten has just released a video saying negotiations are well under way, and he's hearing serious chatter about it now, and he thinks it'll be done (but there's still a way to go).

Something has obviously happened as he said this morning that he didn't have any information on it, but believed he was a target, etc.

I suspect the knee thing is an attempt to get the price down a bit.

Only other sources i have seen report on the Khedira move is Daily fail and bleacher report along with goal.com so no not any better than twitter:p.

Been hearing Khedira wants close to £200k a week to move to us, not sure how accurate that is but if it is true then he can go **** off. There is no way he is worth paying that much, sure hes a good player but hes not on par with the better players of the world.

Still hoping that the rumours about him wanting a huge pay packet at Arsenal arent true and that he does come to us in the end. If not Lars Bender is someone we should be looking at, meant to be very good and is young.
