Just ordered some supplies to get me started on DIY Juice.....

After trying a sample of Red Astaire this weekend, I'll be making up some of that, along with some CLC, and maybe more!

Digbys Mums Custard, Spectrum vapings VC is supposed to be nice. Mrs Lords?

Or go start mixing your own like I'm about to attempt!

I'd forgotten about Digbys mum, not heard of the Mr's Lords so I will check that out. Just found a 5ml bottle of Scopes Tart in my drawer I had forgotten about, its been steeping for about 2 months now.

Nah not clued up enough to start mixing my own just yet. Something I might look at towards the end of the year.

Smells lovely. :D

Gone full circle now - Kanger Aerotank Mega & Mini + Naturevape coils = Vaping nirvana for me.

So so easy to maintain and means my KFL and other assorted expensive equipment has been gathering dust for weeks now.

Impressed.

Few updates.

So my Kanger Aero Mini was leaking all over the place, I went to clean it up and noticed an o-ring floating around in the water. Turns out one of the o-rings was missing! found it and solved the leaks. Be careful with these, as the seals fall out way too easy.

Cleaning, got myself a bottle of purified water and some iso-propyl alchohol from the chemist. My cleaning regime is 50% room temperature / 50% boiling water for 5 mins. Same again with 10% iso-propyl alcohol added, 10 mins with the first solution. Most of the tank is dry enough to use fairly soon, leave the coils overnight.

Tanks, swapped out from the standard clearos to a Kanger Aerotank mini and a couple of old Aerotanks. The new style is better, the airflow ring doesn't jam. My local shop is getting the new Nautilus minis in very soon, looking forward to those.

Mods, upgraded from the stock E-go ish ones to some Kanger twists. They are better, I suspect new batteries are on there way soon enough.

Juice, been all around the houses here but settled on a few.

Gins Addiction; an early favorite was a Strawberry Menthol but ignored my instincts about liking Menthol vapes until this. It's got Menthol, Mint, Gin, Lemon, Blackcurrant and Absinthe. Didn't like it at first, but after a day or so - I can go all day on it.

My local shop (Vape Emporium) also import some awesome juice from Hawaii. I'm really digging the Plaintain de Flambe and Sweet Fragaria (melon++) flavours.

Ok, so after two weeks of vaping, I've almost reached the end of my original 30ml supply (Triphammer fruit pastels 50/50 mix).
Is that a lot to get through in that time period?

Anyway, I'm still getting that shortness of breath thing (which may be getting worse if anything) and I don't know if it's just the adjustment phase or whether it's down to the mix ratio of the juice and how it can be a bit of a personal thing.

Anyone with any knowledge or similar experience of this have any idea of what to try next in terms of mix ratio or do you reckon it's just a matter of sticking it out?

I wouldn't say that's excessive at all dude, I get through 5ml a day. And have read on POTV of some dude who allegedly gets through 30ml a day using a dripper (wtf!)

Get into DIY mixing and see vaping get even more cost effective :p

Ah, good to know :)

I've been thinking about DIY'ing it, but I think I have a good chance of knocking the whole thing on the head in the not too distant future and don't really want to get too deep into it.
We'll see how it goes.

On a side note, I took the KFL/Vamo out for a b-day drink up followed by a couple of house parties on the weekend and managed not to lose it despite getting hammered. Definitely not the most portable of things, but it's a good ice breaker/conversation starter :D

Try 100% VG and 100% PG liquids.
Your lungs may not like one or the other.

I have to use 100% VG, if there's even any amount of PG (IE the flavouring) then my asthma flares up :/
Can get away with 100% VG base with flavouring but will still wheeze at night.

Ordering goop from America etc to try to get actual no PG as most flavours use PG. :/

Woop! All my mixing stuff arrived! :D

Red Astaire mixers: If I want to do a 50/50 should I up the flavourings slightly or is the extra VG not that much of an issue?

Some sites say what % to start with or your calculator will. If I was you only make 10ml to you get your mix right.

Yes I know that, but I was asking more due to the extra VG in it. ;)

Anyway, looking around UKV seems the usual 15% is good but there is a level of personal preference.

I mixed at 18% @ 40PG/60VG and it was a decent mix.

Next time I'll be mixing it at 20-25% for a nice strong mix, and let it steep for atleast a week.
It was noticably not the same vape as a 'pre-bought' bottle of astaire, although I'll perfect my mix to match it :p All trial and error.

For Red Astaire, I'd start at 20%. Giving mine some more time to steep, but I think at 70/30 I'm probably going to go for 25% next time. It's a flavour that really does benefit from being kept strong.

I'm wondering on this, I can't tolerate vape first thing in the morning - it's like a reset every day where I have to go through this whole mess of taking small amounts and coughing my guts up until I've built up enough tolerance to vape constantly.

Menthol flavours help some, but I invariably just go for a couple of Marlboros - could this just be dehydration?

It could be, but I always felt my dehydration in the evenings rather than the mornings.

I too was like that, maybe not as bad as coughing and spluttering, but always had to start off with small hits and lower watts (the BIG advantage with VW devices when starting out I felt). When I started mixing my own at 70/30 or 65/35 things got better though. But then again, I was a couple months in by that point, so it was maybe getting better anyway.
