You can get a more tube style mod, no problem. The problem with them is they are roughly the same price, but you will be required to purchase separate batteries and charger. This is not a problem, of course, but will be more expensive.

The SVD is a good device : http://myepack.co.uk/mods/itaste-svd-express-full-kit.html
Or a Vamo V5 : http://myepack.co.uk/mods/vamo-v5-full-kit-ss.html

These kits will come with reasonable batteries and a decent charger, so should set you up quite well.

I haven't had an SVD myself, but have had a couple Vamo's.

You could go straight into mechanical mods, but that would probably be too steep of a learning curve, as you have to get into battery safety, and ideally coil rebuilding too.

Again many thanks, that Vamo V5 looks good, though not sure about what "clearomiser" I should go for, theirs quite the selection in the drop down menu.
Now..erm...liquids....what the hell im I looking for here lol.

From their selection of clearo, you could do a LOT worse than the Protank 3, Aerotank V2 or Aspire Nautilus. They would be the three I would narrow it down to. Youtube the 3 of them and see what one you think would work best for you.

Liquids, well you have to figure that out yourself with regards to flavour.

As for nic strength, 18 or 24 would be a good place to start depending on how heavy a smoker you are. If you then have a choice of ration, 70/30 or 60/40 is also a good place to start.

Okay, I think the V5 with the Aero Tank V2 looks good.

I see what you mean with liguids, theirs a LOT!, to narrow it a bit, is their any brands on that site you would recommend, or they all good as each other really?

So is custardy lovechild the one to go for? Better than Grants? :)

Imo its as good if not better than Grants.
I just use Ethyl Malatol as a sweetener so its not as sweet as Grants, if you do want it as sweet, get some PA Sweetner and use it at about 3-5%
Also PA Vanilla Custard tastes exactly like Capella's but is £1 a bottle cheaper, so i would go with that.
Also the Vanillan does make a difference, so dont miss out that.

Then allow 4 weeks steeping
It is really nice, so i make 100ml batch every 2 weeks (i do give some to friends and family though), this way i always have some fully steeped and ready to go :D

Thanks so much for this, though I was hoping for a less blocky deisgn if possible?, about £40 mark is where I was thinking for the device, im not a heavy smoker by any means, just tired of what I do smoke, I dont even think the nicotine is a large factor, more a persistent habit and routine for me.
I dont feel like trying a "cheapo" version, as from the outset that could give a poor representation to how it should be, then that would put me off the entire endeavour.
Just incase you missed it... :)

I'd say for a starter kit, this is bloody brilliant. 100 time better than any of the CE4/5/EVOD/etc kits out there. So much more for your money and a good itro to rewicking and rebuilding.

If you can handle sticking a bit of cotton though a hole now and again go for it. :)

Cheers mate, I already have all the ingredients to make CLC and GVC (EM, DDL, Sweetner, FVD, Vanillin etc) figured I'd may as well make both and see how it goes. :)

Will give it a go.... If i can tear myself away from BF4.... :D

Oh great, and there was me thinking my mind was made up!

Going by that review he seems pretty taken with it, so taking price out of the equation, what would be better, what I was looking at or the NatureVape?

Vamo V5 arrived today.

The moment I popped my AGA-T2 on there I had a feeling this wasn't going to be a good experience.

On my VMax the atty shows @ 1.8 ohms, on the Vamo it shows as 4.2 ohms.

Well this is getting sent back :/

The centre pin spring isnt strong enough to raise the pin, thus meaning it doesnt make contact with the atty.

Try to fire it and I get "Check Atty" on the screen.

The resistance checker is totally out of whack.

AGA-T
Vmax - 2.0
Vamo - 4.2

AGA-T2
Vmax - 1.9
Vamo - 4.9

Protank
Vmax - 2.0
Vamo - 3.8

Dammit!

Are you sure it is making a proper connection? I use my vamo to test the coils on my drippers and if you dont screw it all the way down you will get higher readings.

Well went with the NatureVape kit, judging by reviews it seems a good first dive.

Then ordered some Scope's Peach and Strawberry flavours to see what they are like.

The protank screws all the way in, if i get a reading it will be wrong or show "Check Atty"

Soft crappy return spring I think.

Not to be daft, but are you sure you are holding down the correct button? On my V2 holding the left button gives me battery voltages, right button gives me resistance. Daft I know, but thought I'd mention it (though 4.9 seems a bit high for voltage?)

I know on my Vamo if i screw the Aerotank all the way in I get a 0 ohm reading. There is a sweet spot that you need to tighten to and then lock it in place using the ring.

Good choice on the kit, Scopes Apple tart and Berrylicious are my faves from him, both are a lovely vape. :)

Damn, where did it come from?

I'll be coughing up for a SVD, or should i just buy a mech?

hmmmm

Need to be careful with the SVD, there has been a lot of problems with the fire button on them. Since most sites don't list the version you might end up with one that has the problem. I was always a bit scared of mechs but as long as you do what you are told they are great.

Think i'm going to have to start making half my batch of liquid with no nic from now on.

Running .4 on my dripper with Nemisis and it hits so god damn hard that no need for the nic at all :p
